Pitou — Restaurant in Oud-Heverlee

Zoet Water - little hidden lake on forest with beautiful little bistros. Pitou wasnt the first choiuce but so glad it had space for us. Brillient friendly service, great beer selection. But the food is the real clincher - i had the "suggestie" venison steak and it was perfectly cooked and served with potatoe waffles (wow) cabbage, brussels sprouts (never eat them - these i finished) a pochaed pear and a spectacular gravy jus - one of the best dishes i have had. The food is good but the fact that they try to scam you out of money is bad. You order a steak for 24 euro and they ask you which sauce you want with it. The bill then comes and it seems they add 4 extra euro for that sauce. They neither inform you the sauce is separately priced neither do they mention the pricing in their menu. You just get to know this at the end when the bill comes. That is scamming! Customer need to know that you pay a separate price...

Good food, good drinks, good service, nice renovation and good view from the terrace. It wasn’t too expensive and since we live in the area we will certainly come back here regularly. My only small issue was the menu: steak at 20€, and other better meat immediately at 34€. I wouldn’t mind paying a little bit more for the steak. Have a choice to take côte a l’os. But I’m nitpicking. Really worth a visit. Thanks for reopening...
