If you ever find yourself near the area, Cafe Modern is definitely worth the visit! Food and Drinks - A lot of great choices and variety on their menu. Don't miss out on some of these new favorites of ours: Mozzarella salad, Steak Bearnaise, Bommerig, and Onion Soup. Their extensive beer menu also made it easy to try out and enjoy great quality Belgian beers -- made even better with some Bitterballen along with your drinks. Ambiance - Their cafe area has this nice, retro vibe to it. There's also this unique type of jukebox that's like an automated band playing actual instruments. Definitely try that out for just a euro coin and enjoy the happy music with the whole room. Whether you want to go out on a date, or just chill with some coffee and a book by their fireplace, it's a very cozy atmosphere. Service - Absolutely excellent service here! The owners were very friendly and approachable. Though we were not locals, they helped us out in English. Don’t hesitate to ask for help and recommendations about their food and drinks. The chefs, aside from their amazing cooking, are also very accommodating to your needs, in case you have specific requests. All in all, I highly suggest trying this place out and you'll wish you could dine and hang out here daily.

This brasserie is located in an old school building near the Dutch border as well as the German and French and Dutch languistic borders in Belgium. The restaurant is being run by Dutch owners so many items on the menu are Dutch dishes. Like for example “kippenpasteitje” which is actually a vol au vent for example. So a kind of a Dutch touch brasserie in Belgium. The food is tasteful and worth the price. In attachment some pictures of the menu and some dishes we tried (fish and meat plateaus) and burgers. They also have a kids menu and a small selection of beers and other beverages. Drinks prices on the pictures of the menu. There is a free graveled parking lot next to the restaurant. They have a bar outside and inside with a big cosy enjoyable clean terrace. There is also a parking for bikes and motorcycles and 2 electrical parking spots on the parking. The English speaking waiters were friendly.
