Brasserie du Simonis — Restaurant in Vresse-sur-Semois

Great location, renovated with love and attention for detail. Could use a little finishing touch for enhanced cosiness. The young lady at the reception did not find our reservation (although I'm pretty sure she was the one that answered the phone 5 hours earlier). In itself no disaster but she could have handled this a lot friendlier than she did. We felt like borderline trespassers. The main dish was a pleasant surprise (our first time here), really top food. Dessert a bit meh, could have been a trifle more refined. Correct for its price though. We arrived early in the evening, the place wasn't really crowded yet, so service could still follow. From what we saw, the place became more packed around 8pm, and then people needed to wait more and more for their food.

Wow... This response clearly reveals the true nature of the brasserie. I can also tell you that we arrived at 12:07 and paid and left at 13:55. Een dag op voorhand een mail ontvangen dat de check-in tussen 16-18.30u dient te gebeuren. Geen probleem, we komen aan om 16.10u. Niemand aanwezig. De verantwoordelijke gebeld (zou meteen komen). Het was op die moment 33 graden. Een dik half uur later komt er iemand om ons in te checken. 1 grote chaos. Kamer: handdoeken waren niet bijgevuld, er is geen verduistering (2 grote velux ramen boven het bed) met als gevolg dat je er amper een paar uren kan slapen. Zeep op in de douche. Had het gevoel dat ze het allemaal niet te baas kunnen. Dit alles gemeld 's ochtends, de verduistering is in bestelling en zou er in oktober zijn. Verhuur deze kamer dan nog niet als ze niet klaar is, of vraag er geen 160 euro voor! Prijs kwaliteit niet in verhouding. We hebben amper kunnen slapen (wat toch wel de bedoeling is van een hotel, ...)
