Balthazar Resto (Sterrebeek) — Restaurant in Zaventem

Excellent discovery. As we are always looking for a meat reference, this one will add up to the selection. The "cote à l'os" was as expected, tasty, well served and more importantly cooked rare as hoped. The wine selection is well in the upper range, with some selected labels. The service is up to the restaurant 's level, besides one small glitch easily corrected, one should not put their fingers in the glasses they take out from the table they are waiting. A bit noisy, but that's to be blamed on the modern building rather to the actual guests and attending people. Bottom line, a good reference to come back to, quality of the food remains of paramount importance rather than the decorum. Good find to come back to. Just one caveat... With the price category, a cheating Amex cards is a must, don't frustrate your guest at the billing time. I'm sure the accountant can absorb...

We were here last night (1 may 2025) for dinner and had a lovely time. The food was good, can be improved though. But overall good. The tuna sashimi was very nice. the puma iberique was good, and the argentinian entrecode was also good. Just we asked for gorgonzola sauce and what came was pepper sauce. When we asked the right sauce, they gave us a sauce that is apparent a mix of gorgonzola and the pepper sauce that we had earlier. It was weird that they mixed the sauce, but the taste was ok, although too spicy for our 10 year old. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience and nice terrace. The servers were friendly. It is near where we live, and for the three of us (two starters and two main courses, and a bottle of wine), it came up to eut 151 eur, which is not excessive. It's a good brasserie with quite a wide range of choices in menu the that we most likely will...

We already went to this place a couple of months ago and were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant.

Unfortunately, when we arrived this time, we had to ask for the menu ourselves (both for dinner and dessert), the same with the suggestions that were not proactively given. I ordered a tea with my dessert, and had to cancel it as it was not ready while my dessert was already finished. So the service was definitely disappointing, especially given the price category of this restaurant.

The food however, was given quite fast and was very tasty!

PS: We noticed it the first time around, but the indoor area is quite noisy, please consider that if you have bad hearing people...
