We visited Bird’s Isle on the recommendation of the manager of our hotel. It was a mixed bag experience…. The food was delicious, we had the shrimp ceviche, lobster tail and grilled red snapper. The entrees were served with side of red beans and rice, side salad, scrambled eggs and French fries. The ceviche was on point. It took a bit of time to arrive, but was super fresh, obviously made to order! Perhaps a bit light on the shrimp, but great flavor. The chips were what we usually get in the area, which to us always seem a bit stale. The entrees of lobster and red snapper were both very good. Decent sized lobster and red snapper for the area. All sides were good, the fries were served piping hot (perfect) and no hint of a fryer used for different foods (the fried fish must have its own fryer! The ranch dressing and tartar sauce seemed homemade, and were both good. The drink menu is CRAZY, in a good way. One-half of the entire menu! Something for everyone included. Beer, wine, frozen drink, speciality cocktails, etc. We tried the Bahama Mama and the Yellow Bird. Served in huge glasses, potent, and sweet… very sweet, lots of fruit juices used. The bad stuff… service was slow. And the place was pretty empty. A lot of the physical premises is in need of repair. We ordered a can of sparkling water, and the top of the can was filthy. That’s a Belizean thing, like when they serve beers wrapped with napkins wrapped around the top, it’s to clean the top before drinking. The top of the bottle of hot sauce on the table was disgusting, obviously not cleaned in some time. Excess hot sauce and crust all over the top and lid. Finally, expensive for what you get. An OK experience, but we probably won’t go back, lots of other restaurants in the area.

The spot was recommended by a local cab driver. The food was not bad at all. Some items were better than others and some ppl have different opinion. I enjoyed my lobster with the cooked veggies and onions. I was able to taste the fish which i thought was good as well. The mash potatoe was average nothing sp3cial. Seems like everyone in Belize cooks Shrimp really well and this spot was no exception. The beer was Warm! Didnt like that. They ran out of rice and beans which really made our combos just weird I do recommend going food wasnt bad and priced decent.

This restaurant came highly recommended by our shuttle driver and locals we spoke to. I originally found it mentioned in a blog when researching the island and decided to go there on our first day. Despite closing soon after we arrived, the staff was gracious enough to let us sit and order whatever we wanted and let us take our time. We ordered the fish fingers and the shrimp. I cannot recommend the fish fingers enough! It was some of the best food we had the entire week. Pictures below for portion sizes and reference!

Terrible service... REALLY terrible (And I'm a local). If you're linking for food but don't have time on your hands? Dont come here, if you're like me you'll get frustrated to the point of leaving after waiting an hour for a measly Chicken Burger. Not to mention the Burger wasn't even on par; and even after waiting soon long, I GOT THE WRONG ORDER (I asked for a Grilled Chicken Burger, they gave me Fried, and even wrote that on the receipt that was written, BEFORE the burger was made). Now note, they've always been known for this, but personally I hadn't been to the place as of late and its not far from where I work so I said "Why not?". After today I don't even wanna guess how long making a drink takes. All in all, I'm never setting foot in that restaurant again, mainly because I literally don't have the time to sit and wait all day...

Went 2x first experience was great had a sever named Jenna who pleasant and informative. The orders were done promptly and the food was delicious. Which is why we went back the next day. The server was slow goofy and got things all.out of order. I asked for grilled fish got fried, broccoli and received cauliflower. He then explained how they had no more broccoli and substituted cauliflower. Think that should have been an option left to me. My family finished their meals before I even got mine. We asked to speak to a manger 20 or so minutes later someone came over and said all they could.do for the inconvenience was take 20% off my fish. Won't be back not unless Jenna or someone competent and take and follow through on orders. However the food.was good, just get there early as they start running out of food way before...
