Chen's Restaurant — Restaurant in Belmopan

One of my favorite place to eat in Belmopan. The meals are not neccesarily cheap however the servings are enormous. And the food once ordered usually arrives at the table really quickly. Also note that the Menu here is huge with lots of traditional and classic asian "chinese" foods.

The speed of the service here can be very hit or miss, however the staff is always friendly.

The atmosphere here is very neutral. So it's great to visit with family. However the air conditioner has not worked in years and that is the biggest down side to this place

In the past there was another good restaurant, namely the Chon Saan Palace restaurant. But the owner was able to make more money renting out the building as government offices so, of course the great Chon Saan Restaurant closed down. The only upside to Chon Saan compare the Chen's is the fact that the former always had a good functioning Air conditioner as well as ample parking space for all...

I am staying the night in their Hotel attached to the restaurant upstairs and it is 9:57 PM, and I went to the bathroom, turned on the light, and was met by at least 20 roaches ranging from huge to small having a party in my bathroom. No lie. They must be coming out of the shower drain and my immediate thought went to their restaurant downstairs. 🤢 They have a scary roach infestation in here and now I cant even sleep knowing roaches are swarming behind the bathroom door right now. It's such a shame because the room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I wish I had a can of Raid...

Chen's was highly recommended to me. So during my first visit here, I got chicken fried rice with shrimp. Hands down, GOAT. They use real chicken & shrimp; the shrimp was cleaned and the chicken was tender. Price is worth paying, knowing someone prepared your food...
