Restaurante Azteca is a special place. I highly recommend including it in your Xunantunich plans. The menu is traditional Mexican plates and antojitos, and all cooked to perfection. The smells are fantastic. It’s a unique outdoor setting, built by the owner himself right into a hill in the jungle. We were told because mine needed fried it’d take a bit longer, we waited almost 2 hours and we just took it to go after they kept saying just 5 more minutes and then took another 15 min.more. Very disappointed that they’d push one of our meals back due to putting a big group that came in after we arrived. I only ate chips and salsa with a soda for lunch. Sorry it was not worth the wait.
