The Xunantunich Restaurant & Café — Restaurant in San Jose Succotz

Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere, great value. I make a point of coming here whenever near San Ignacio/mountain pine ridge, not just when going to benque or xunantunich site. Even if first thought is it’s slightly “out of your way” GO!! Give it a try! the location of just up the hill from ferry does make it easy to find and convenient. We’ve been there several times for lunch or dinner, and now breakfast this weekend; always blown away by the quality and presentation. Even when we were the only ones at lunch during covid struggles, they still gave 4star meals. For locals, strawberries are an expensive imported fruit, that we rarely get. Even 4star resorts don’t serve Real strawberries, that strawberry daiquiri is made with a fake sweet mix. (Ugh!) The food is absolutely delicious. My family and I each ordered something different and genuinely everything was tasty and filling. We ordered 1 chicken fajita, a beef burger and a chicken burger, a pizza, a quesadilla and a breakfast burrito. The restaurant has an excellent coffee blend from 3 different countries (can't remember the other two but 1 is Ethiopia). Truly this is the best coffee I've ever had. I had a hazelnut latte and my cousin had a piccolo latte. Both were excellent. However, the hazelnut latte was superb. Highly recommend this...

Cucumber Lemonade- 6/10 wifey says it’s alright, wasn’t expecting the no sugar.

Pepperoni pizza- 8/10 fresh ingredients overall good just a bit underdone in the center was doughy

Chicken Beans and Rice-6/10 wifey says it tasted kinda bland unfortunately. Wouldn’t order again.

In the end we really wanted to give this a 5 star but the food taste was lacking. Maybe we will try the breakfast next time as looking at other reviews that’s where the top menu items are. Great...
