So many good things to say about this resort!
Location: beautiful, remote, quiet, boutique This is a small resort. You’ll see the same people and staff daily! It wasn’t uncommon we were the only ones eating or at the pool. If you like quiet and listening to birdsong with relaxation, this is for YOU! You will encounter beautiful Aracari toucans and kinkajous at dinner you can feed - just wow! We stayed for 4 nights, with all the excursions we did I would’ve loved to stay one more!
Staff: so many good things to say about the individuals who work here. Derby, Enrique, Rognar were wonderful. Always friendly, teaching us about bird calls they heard (helping us spot Belize’s national bird), or wildlife and plants we encountered. They were always attentive, remembering who we are and asking us what we were up to that day!
Tour guides: Fernando with ATM cave tour (a MUST do), and Jorge with Caracol (another great trip, don’t drive yourself … those roads!) were wonderful as well.
Rooms: Our group stayed all over the resort. The double queen casitas (nothing special - these are great for full days where you’ll be out and just for sleeping), the premiere treehouse (#15 WOW! Worth the money. Do it for at least a night. Gorgeous. Bath on the balcony was literal Heaven), and normal treehouse (#12, no bathtub but awesome hammock and the nicest “inside”). AC worked well in all rooms
Food: one restaurant, YUM. Took the complication out of planning where to eat. Breakfast and lunch are set menus with lots of variety. Dinner is a rotating menu for a farm to table experience. Food was delicious, great variety, and fresh! Each dinner menu had two starter choices, main dishes (chicken-based, pork or beef, a fish and veggie) and set dessert. We did the all-inclusive package, our group was non-drinkers and we still felt it was a good value overall. Fresh juices were delicious. I will be dreaming of the sorrel Moscow mule (virgin) for months
Wifi: advertised as at the restaurant only, we were delighted to observe that we had pretty fair wifi at most of the resort
Bugs: note that we came during dry season, they were NOT bad. Better than Michigan! I had probably 5 bites from our 4 nights there with zero bug spray on
Suggestions: PACK FOR A PURPOSE!! Look it up. Save some room in your luggage and donate to Belizean kids, easily done at the front desk.
We loved getting to know the staff, thankfully we ended up learning their names but name tags might be helpful in the future so we can give them the recognition they deserved!
Adding a hot tub to the resort would be so fantastic as well as some sort of fitness area (sounds like something is in the works for this)
Suggest easy identification of all-inclusive guests Vs not. I felt bad repeating I was all-inclusive every meal (just for those of us who don’t like...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Stay at a Magical Jungle Lodge!
I can't say enough wonderful things about this private jungle lodge! From the moment we checked in, the staff made our stay truly special. We mentioned it was my birthday, and for a small fee, they upgraded us to one of their incredible treehouse rooms – a dream come true! While my fiancé and I were there as a couple, the property is also kid-friendly, offering rooms with double beds for families.
The front desk staff were so welcoming and informative, telling us all about the complimentary activities available on-site and the exciting excursions you can book through them. The best part? There was never any pressure to book the paid tours. Instead, they focused on making sure we had an amazing time. We were given a full tour of the stunning infinity pool overlooking the Macal River, the restaurant, and finally our beautiful private treehouse.
This resort has so much to offer that you could spend your entire stay here without needing to leave. We stayed for four nights and kept ourselves happily entertained with happy hour at the infinity pool, biking along jungle trails, tubing, and canoeing on the Macal River. The staff’s dedication to service was impeccable—everyone we encountered was genuinely invested in our well-being and enjoyment.
While we love to explore, we couldn't resist the resort’s suggestions for in-town experiences. The staff were overjoyed to give us amazing recommendations, asking only that we let them know when we were heading out, just so they wouldn’t worry—a truly heartfelt gesture that made us feel so cared for.
We also opted for the Horseback Nature Tour, which turned out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. Our guide, TrioTeck, was a wealth of knowledge, teaching us about the diverse flora and fauna as we ventured through the jungle to a breathtaking hidden spot. I can't recommend this tour enough!
The food and drinks were top-notch, with a range of local spirits and beers, and delicious, high-quality meals that you can enjoy at the restaurant or in the comfort of your room. One of the lodge's standout features is their commitment to the community. For each night you stay, they make a donation to local philanthropic organizations, and you have the option to match that donation at checkout. It's such a meaningful way to give back to the area that makes your stay so memorable.
In short, this lodge was everything we hoped for and more. It was the perfect introduction to Belize, and we were genuinely sad to leave this paradise. We’ll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an extraordinary...
Read moreBeyond an amazing experience! To be in a beautiful resort in the middle of the jungle is the best relaxation we could ask for! The team go above and beyond to make you feel at home and meet all needs and questions you have. The grounds are beautiful, the pool deck is perfectly located with memorizing views of the jungle, the treetop bar restaurant is perfectly located at bird level to get all the action. We stayed in tree house 18, good location (middle of the property) very quiet and secluded. (FYI is even more secluded). The really comfortable and fun netting is so relaxing to lay on at any time of the day while taking in the mass view and such peaceful sounds of the jungle - also a sitting deck area and outdoor bathtub (we didn’t use since it was pretty hot) even hot days, it’s cool in the shade and enjoyable. We were lucky with the weather though in the mid 90s and high humidity, it wasn’t bad at all, unless you were doing a long tour solely in the sun lol the hotel can book all your tours and their guides are amazing. We also did a few night walks with a tour guide on the property to get a glimpse of the jungle coming alive at night, amazing chance to learn so much. We really enjoyed our stay and got even luckily as it was a very quiet time with minimal people so it truely felt a lot of the time we had the resort to ourselves. We would highly recommend this for couples, friends and even family - even with younger children (they do have kid menus FYI) some other activities that are included but we did not take part in only because we were to busy relaxing by the pool or on our netting at our treehouse - they have tubes and kayaking for river rafting, evening bonfires and botanical gardens near by. Lastly the food was incredibly, we aren’t foodies by any means but do enjoy good food, plenty of options for breakfast and lunch, dinner are preset with a handful of options, everything was fresh and tasted amazing. We were lucky enough that each morning for breakfast we were able to sit by the fruit platter set out for the birds and see all kind of beautiful wild birds. We look forward to coming back with our family in the...
