*EXTREMELY* NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE. After renting kayaks from Placencia, we pulled Landshark Bar & Grill up on the map- and low and behold they are open and we can see the old lighthouse on the island from Placencia!!! After a few hours kayaking to the island, we landed ashore close to the bar & grill. As we pulled up to the dock it seemed odd that no one was here.. oh but here comes a couple police officers yelling at my wife, 12 year old son & I, with their hands on the holster ready to draw their firearms. We quickly pushed off the dock (not having exited our kayaks yet) because they acted like they were going to try to detain us. “WHO ARE YOU, WHATS YOUR NAME? WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? THIS IS ILLEGAL YOU CANT BE HERE” (screaming at us). We are not extreme kayakers and Placencia is literally just several miles away, yet the police acted like this had never happened and we just entered a restricted area. They continue to follow us along land as we leave, like they’re going to try to ‘get us’ down the island. Arriving at the docking area there was one chain across the opening to the inlet that had a sign that said no boats beyond this point, and had just enough space for kayaks and man powered boats to enter and exit, with 50+ kayaks ashore on the other side less then 20 feet away. Zero private property signs, no trespassing, etc. 3 very fatigued kayakers just looking for lunch and a little break were sent another couple miles back paddling through the ocean from where we started.. Upon arriving back in Placencia we found out that Norwegian cruise line owns the island and has a visceral negative reaction to anyone that tries to come there. Thanks Landshark Bar & Grill, I’m so glad my 12 year old was able to experience that kind of extreme hostility. how about you fix your google listing since your not open to the public?

Genevieve T. was our waiter and was really outstanding and attentive, she was the cherry on top of a great experience. After so-so experiences with food on board the Norwegian Getaway, we weren't sure to what to expect from NCL's private island, but WOW. The flautas (pictured and tacos de pastor) were really wonderful. Not super spicy, but very well seasoned and a perfect complement to the amazing view from the rooftop bar. Highly recommend you find time to have the food here while on the island.

As soon as you arrive you have the option to eat I side the building, on the second floor or outside. We decided to have our lunch inside and we didn't regret it. We had a break from the sun. The ambiance and music was on point not to loud easily to enjoy a conversation with your friends while enjoying music in the background. The hostess and waitres were very professional and outgoing. The food was good. I recommend you to try the hibiscus margaritas and the flautas. They were my favorites.

Right on the beach is this lovely restaurant. They have amazing food and drinks, excellent service and you get amazing views of the beach as well. We Went in for lunch, four adults. It wasn't busy, so we were seated right away. The waitress was right there. She was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She recommended the blackened fish sandwich and I got it. The sandwich was excellent, cooked perfectly, lightly blackened and very fresh, not frozen. The fish tacos were awesome as well. I'll...
