Manatee Lookout Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Ladyville

We stopped for lunch to kill some time before our flight home. The food was really good and the prices were ok, but we had a lot of bad luck with our experience. It was a good thing that we had a lot of extra time. First, the kids were brought chicken wings instead of tenders. They took them back and brought the right meal quickly. Second, my kebabs apparently went to a different table, so it was a long wait for a new meal to be cooked and brought out for me. They offered us free drinks as an apology, but even that went sideways: only two of the three drinks we asked for came out. Finally, when it was time to pay, their credit card system wasn't working. This wasn't really their fault, since the power was out for the entire district, but we had asked if they accepted credit card before we sat down and they said yes. (I guess they hadn't put 2+2 together with the power outage.) Fortunately we had just enough cash to pay for our meal, but they ended up with almost no tip, which I guess was fitting...

We had a long layover at the BZ airport. I had always wanted to come by Manatee Lookout R&B in our other BZ trips but it didn't work out. This time I called from Honduras and the owner, I believe his name is Rohan (sorry if I remembered incorrectly) was kind enough to say he was going to try and be open even though it was a normal day off. We came by from the airport hoping for a chance to check it out and we were glad we did! We were welcomed in and were amazed when we saw the menu. This place was incredible. The only thing that could make it better would be maybe a hedge to keep the road noise out. We were alone with lovely music playing, and when we finished we sat out on the dock, smoking a cigar, drinking a beer, enjoying the peacefulness of the river. It was a delightful and the dogs and cats were quite cute and not troublesome at all. Just picture the sun setting over the river, Lionel Ritchie playing in the background, a sweet dog resting comfortably a few feet away, a beer in your hand, belly full of good food.
