I recently visited the Botanist Bar & Restaurant in Bermuda, and it was an extraordinary experience! Their scotch selection is truly impressive, offering a wide variety of high-quality options that cater to both novices and connoisseurs alike. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about their scotch, making excellent recommendations that enhanced our tasting experience. But it doesn’t stop there—their flatbreads are simply out of this world. Perfectly crispy with a delightful array of toppings, each bite was a burst of flavor. Whether you prefer classic combinations or more adventurous flavors, there's something on the menu for everyone. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. I highly recommend Botanist Bar & Restaurant for anyone visiting Bermuda. Exceptional service, outstanding scotch, and delicious flatbreads make it a must-visit!

I’d heard there was a new place that I had to see up at the Botanical Gardens. They were right! The Botanist is the perfect spot for happy hour outside of the hustle and bustle of Front Street. The day I went was perfect sunshine outside and I had trouble deciding between the wonderfully blissful rose garden with its own bar and tables or the surprise that lay beneath… In the end the coolness (both literally & figuratively) of the cellar vibe won me over on that day and we imbibed our drinks in a proper gentlemen’s lounge. The proprietor Peter Kyle stopped by to chat and enticed us to try their Whisky flight (look no E) which we selected ourselves from their vast archive of Uisge Beatha. The evening light bites menu consisted of various flatbreads and sharing platters of charcuterie and cheeses. Will definitely be back!

This is a very cool spot with a variety of seating options for breakfast and lunch - the cafe, outdoor patio, garden and downstairs are all very unique spaces to accommodate a small or larger group. During our weekend in Bermuda I was also able to do a one of a kind Whisky tasting in the unique downstairs space. The level of knowledge and enthusiasm Mike and Pete have made this a one of a kind experience. Everyone in the group loved it and stayed for an another after it was done. Really enjoyed the coffee and the flatbread pizza.

To start off, I never gave bad reviews on google but this is getting to my nerve and I am utterly shocked with what happened to me while organising an event here.

What I love most about this place is the environment and the atmosphere. The waiter and waitress there is also amazing! That is why I was very adamant that I am going to have to my baby shower event here.

However the shop manager is the worst that I have ever came across!

I started contacting Pete the beginning of October through email just to get the date and estimated cost as his number and the shop number never worked.

I waited and had to send few follow up emails with detailed plan to get his attention but my question was never answered in his reply. I waited for another two weeks with follow up emails and decided to show up at the shop to physically meet Pete as he claimed to be so busy to even just give me a quick quote and explaining to me how the service and facility work.

After confirming with him, I showed up at the shop on a Saturday at 3pm as he told me he is available whole day on Saturday and I have a little one to take care. When I got there, he told me he was about to give a call, and never got back to me after he finished his call. The queue was long at the counter, by the time I managed to sit down it was already 3:30pm and he came to my table about 4:10pm, removing the umbrella that was blocking the sun, saying the shop closes at 4pm and quickly mentioned he cannot offer me the rose garden for the group I would like to invite, but the front semi- enclosed area then he went off.

Pete eventually gave me his phone number that actually works and I decided to cut down my invited number just to get to use the rose garden as he said he cannot help me with the intended number at the rose garden. I called him again to find out the cost and the facilities he can provide, he kept asking me to send him emails with details which he never replied to me with substantial information.

I had to call numerous times and he kept saying he is busy and his tone was rude saying I kept calling him while he is busy, also complaining I changed my plan. I had November 23rd scheduled and he knew this all along and he told me the date is no longer possible as someone is willing to offer taking the entire venue.

He returned my call and finally gave me his charges and confirmed the booking on the following weekend after a month of tiring and stressful follow ups! If he had been clean and open to his cost and services, none of these would have happened!

I had to change my baby shower plans to accommodate the rose garden’s unavailability but Pete blame this one me. Pete’s extremely poorly managed client relationship made me decided never to come back to this place!

This place is not about customer service but money! I hope this horrible experience will never happen to anyone else.

P.S

I called The Cloud at The Waterfront for my baby shower event after the final call with Pete and the experience was totally the opposite. I was treated with dignity and welcoming tones. I booked with them in one call and I wonder why I never tried other options.

To all the moms, please do not bother with Botanist and I wonder how they managed to...
