I made a reservation to have lunch today at this restaurant. I made the reservation way ahead of time and I specifically requested a table outside, not once, but three times, due to COVID-19 concerns. The man taking the reservation said there was no problem and confirmed that we would have a table for 4 at 12pm outside. When we arrived there, a man behind the counter instructed the waiter to take us inside. I told him our reservation was for an outside table. The man behind the counter very rudely told me that there were no tables outside for us and we had to sit inside. I told him we already had a reservation, which they confirmed, for an outside table and we did not want to sit inside. He just said he could not sit us outside, did not even apologize and was extremely rude during this whole interaction. We decided to leave. When we left the restaurant, one of the people in my group mentioned that this had happened to them previously, and that the owner apparently makes reservations and then just decides to cancel them without giving any notice, in order to fit his friends, known customers or bigger groups. Although this is a popular restaurant, the way they treat some of their customers is appalling and needless to say I would not go back there or recommend this...
Read moreMy first experience in Vagon del Sur was awful. It was years ago, however I got really sick from the food (as did the whole group that went that time). This had me scared for a second try, but I ended up going again and it was nothing like that first time! For starters, I didn't get sick! The food is plentiful (maybe get half a dish of its for one), it's well prepared and seasoned and it does bring a Bolivian taste to the table. The restaurant is all about Bolivian food, perfect for tourists looking to try all our flavors! It's a busy place, so make a reservation before going. The attention was good, regarding how full the place is. I need to go one more time to fully redeem my...
Read moreThe restaurant is located on a quiet, safe street. The place is clean and the staff is attentive. They give you complimentary fresh bread and butter+2 types of sauce as well as some tiny delish empanadas. The place is clean and spacious. We stayed outside and it was great. Shade with the umbrellas. The soup plates are very, very, very big. 2 or 3 people can definitely share a soup. The tiramisu was delicious but it was not the classic one, it had a lot of tasty strawberries. The pisco sour was indeed sour and one of the best I've had ( if you like sour) . My friend had trucha and she liked it a lot. Thia restaurant has some good quality...
