New Tokyo — Restaurant in La Paz

The restaurant itself is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the service is excellent, but that's where it stopped for us. We ordered some gyoza and a few sushi rolls that came out really fast.

The gyoza were not very well put together and the flavour was meh. The rolls seemed made in advance and served directly from the refrigerator. They were cold and the rice was stale. Even the "fried" roll was cold.

I've never seen a serious Japanese restaurant or even a modest izakaya serve pre-made rolls. We might as well have gotten sushi from the supermarket.

Perhaps the cooked dishes are better, but after this first experience, we're not very keen...

Missing star due waiter attention. Not only was he not clear in giving clear instructions, but he also showed an upset face. We had no reservation, so first lady very kind took us to the lower level. Who had a clue there was restroom also down?. No sign, and waiter was absent that moment, so I went upstairs. When I came back he stared at me and mentioned almost upset that there were restrooms also down. I pointed out there was no sign and he grumped back at me. When we were done eating, he didn't wait for us to ask the check and just brought it as pushing us to leave. Other than that, food...

Great location. Its a big house that has good ambients and comfortable chairs amd tables. Service is kind. Once you place an order they bring you a hot wet towel for your hands. Food is fresh, tasty and they have a large menu with pictures. Prices are fair considering the portions. There are tables in the grass patio also and a place for kids to play. Soups are very unique. Rrally recommend this place. They also have delivery. U get chewables...
