Great Wall Hotel Sarajevo — Restaurant in City of Sarajevo

This hotel clearly stated that breakfast was served from 8:00 to 10:00 and my reservation included it. At check-in, no additional guidance was given, yet the next morning at 9:30, well within the posted timeframe, the food was gone. When I inquired, I was told “You should have come earlier—you came too late.”

This led to an unnecessary and uncomfortable conversation where I had to point out that breakfast from 8–10 was part of the booking contract. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the staff made me feel like I was being selfish and difficult for expecting what was promised in the established terms.

I don’t expect to argue for basics included in my rate. What should have been a simple, hospitable fix turned into a stressful exchange that overshadowed the stay.

Nothing fancy about this hotel but convenient if you have a flight to catch especially early in the morning.They provide free transfer to the airport.The room is basic and average in cleanliness.Haphazard cabling to the aircond unit.The lift is rather scary.The lift floor jerks at entry and lift wall squeak as it rubbed to the lift pit wall.The hotel reminds me of similar hotels in China.You will have Chinese restaurant smell coming into the room.Anyway it served our purpose to board our 6am flight to Vienna onward to London.Now we are in London having our lunch at a Malaysian Restaurant...

Positives: The location is good, near the airport and the big road running next to Sarajevo. Wifi was good. ||Negatives: The staff: except for one very nice, helpful local lady, the rest of the staff was ignoring the guests, or outright rude (when we were leaving and said good bye, one purple haired girl didn't even respond and she was rude and not really trying to help before that).
