This is Arraial do Cabo’s best kept food secret. The quality is amazing and easily beats any restaurants on the beachfront in taste and value for money. Go to the restaurants on the beach only if you want a cocktail with sunset views, but go here for food. Meat and fish are fresh and sourced locally and the chef, who built the entire place himself from reclaimed materials, will look after you like family. I highly recommend for gringos seeking authentic cuisine without the worry of being overcharged. The feijoada is incredible (my partner is Mineira so I’m used to the best food in Brazil 😉😅) but honestly, the fish was on a whole new level. Enjoy!

Esse é o segredo gastronômico mais bem guardado de Arraial do Cabo. A qualidade é incrível e supera facilmente qualquer restaurante na orla da praia em termos de sabor e custo-benefício. Vá aos restaurantes na praia somente se quiser um coquetel com vista para o pôr do sol, mas vá aqui pela comida. As carnes e os peixes são frescos e de origem local e o chef, que construiu todo o local com materiais recuperados, cuidará de você como se fosse da família. Eu o recomendo para gringos que buscam a autêntica culinária brasileira sem a preocupação de serem cobrados a mais. A feijoada é incrível (minha namoradinha é mineira, então estou acostumado com a melhor comida do Brasil 😉😅), mas, sinceramente, o peixe estava em outro nível....

A must go place if you are into having the local experience! It’s only locals here. The prices are really cheap. Have a cold bottle beer 1L R$10. And order the fried pork portion “torresmo”. Also try the fried chorizo and aipim. Such good local food. (Ok, not if you’re a cardiac patient or are under diet!). The staff is kind and welcoming. Speaking Portuguese does help, since no English is spoken - truly local...
