Umami Restaurant — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Itapipoca

A true gem! Run by two friends, a very friendly and passionate host (who also speaks excellent english) as well as a very talented Argentinian chef, Umami has the most delicious food I ever tasted outside of a Michelin star restaurant. Set in the palm fringed courtyard of a small Pousada next to the pool the setting is as much unassuming as it is charming: You feel more like eating at your friends place in the neighborhood than in a luxurious restaurant. And yet the food is on highest international level, making this an all around great experience that fits very well with the laid back vibe of the town.

Don’t be fooled by the small backstreet leading to the restaurant: Umami is a culinary highlight well worth to be discovered :)

Fantastic dining here at the highest point in Icaraizinho. Extraordinary food and service. We had the ceviche and Thai hummus as a starter and the chefs yakisoba as a main, delicious. The breakfast is also very well served with a basket of home made breads, fruits and all the omelete, mixed eggs, tapioca and cuzcuz variations made to order. As most restaurants in ceara, they dont know how to do medium rare. Its so easy to buy a temperature sensor. Mine came as rare/blue and pretty much cold, after a 50 min wait. I returned it to the kitchen and it took another 20 minutes. So more than 1 hr to serve my food. My GF had the Polvo, which wasnt good either.
