Blue Beach Bar — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Salvador

This is definitely not the same establishment that boasted of quality service I visited last year. Upon entering, there is a R50 fee that guests must pay to gain access to the outdoor lounge area, where they can receive a 5-minute massagem and indulge in the pristine views of the beach/ocean. Okay, no problem.

However, this particular experience I was met with over the weekend was far from pristine.

As I made my way down to the lounge area, I was not met with the same welcoming smiles and cheerful attitudes as I did several months ago. In fact, the waiters who were standing around as I descended didn’t even look my way; zero acknowledgement. As I took my seat, I figured that someone would eventually come and greet me — I waited several minutes and no one stopped by my table to check on me.

All those waiters kept passing by without a single glance in my direction; however, other patrons were being attended to and it’s important to note that it was not crowded at all.

I didn’t want to jump to any conclusions, so I decided that service would be better further down, near the bar area & beach. After all, there were more staff below. I made my way there, stopping at the bar to ask for a table. I was met with odd looks (I’m not a native portuguese speaker, so I figured it was that.)

Unfortunately for me, the disappointing service did not change due to a change in locations. I had to practically beg for someone to come over to my table for assistance. One of the guys at the bar kept watching me & giving me odd looks as if I was completely out of place and I must admit, I was! The majority of the guests were branco and it was clear to me that their requests were more important than mine was.

After practically fighting to order a drink and observing how disinterested & completely miserable the staff looked, it was clear to me that they could care less about making sure I was taken care of. I made up my mind that I was not going to order food there. Even the waiter who handed me my bill didn’t even make eye contact. He swiped my card without uttering a single word or cracking a smile and he simply walked away.

Afterwards, I made my way to front desk to lay out my grievances and demand a refund. The lady at the front desk appeared receptive to my horrendous experience but couldn’t process a refund back onto my card, only via Pix which I don’t have. It would be an understatement to say that I will not be returning to this establishment.

In my honest, informed opinion, I got the sense that Black people, while the establishment would say differently, are NOT welcomed there. Only if, of course, Black people are in service to branco’s. Anyone else could have the real possibility of being...

Not only the beach is very beautiful with clear blue water, but the add ons make a huge difference!

The food and the drinks were exceptional well made. Creative, perfectly prepared and with high quality ingredients.

The staff is very very efficient. In all moments they provide an exceptional service. I spend almost six hours there.

The provided towel is decent. Chairs are fine.

The 50 BRL are a very acceptable price for a day pass. Other prices aren't cheap, but still very fair and in accordance to the quality.

I wish I had stayed longer in Salvador to visit this...

This beach bar is such an amazing spot if you want more of a private beach feel in Salvador. The entrance fee for the day is R$50, which is not that bad. They have seating at the top but also at the beach. I would recommend coming here early as possible because it starts become shaded after noon because of the building’s heights. You also don’t get to see sunset since it’s on the eastern side of Salvador and it’s covered by other development.
