Maybe we caught a bad day, but even by the unfortunate gastronomy standards of Ilha Grande (low quality / high prices), this was a new low. While the ambience is still nice, prices rose exponentially in the past two years and the quality of the food did not catch up.

Dry, tasteless grilled fish for about USD 50,- and a very lackluster service is just not a good combination. It felt like a tourist trap from times long thought to be gone by.

So, if you are on a boat tour and your skipper wants to take you there, think twice. The place is beautiful, but you might end up...

Super sad of our experience of the day. this restaurant is located where boat are arriving and leaving. We said two time to the waiter that we had one hour to eat and to recommend us what dish we should take to fit in this laps of time. 50min after, the food arrive on the table, completely in the rush and can’t eat the full meal. I’m sorry but it’s very not professional, I know we are in chill country and it’s vacation time, but we were about to miss our boat because of this. Was good tho, but so stressed the experience got...

The place is amazing on a kind of floating barge with an incredible view and a lot of fishes around. The place is quite small but not an issue.

The service is also top with nice waiters, speaking in English and even in French for one of them. So convenient.

The dishes were all quite good. We tried different ones, fish, squid and the traditional ragout. The quantity was also important.

We recommend this place to eat after enjoying the hiking and/or the beach on the other side,...

What a wonderful restaurant in an idyllic location. We a family of 5 along with two other families spent the day at Lopes Mendes and had a late lunch all together afterwards while we waited for our boat. The sandwiches were delicious and came promptly. We also ordered some passionfruit juice. Service was kind and warm. Would totally go back!
