Hidden among a line of other restaurants, you’ll find Little Audrey’s. The first thing that will strike you is the atmosphere and the several depictions of Audrey Hepburn adorning the walls. The entire restaurant is homey and welcoming. The food has the same warm, welcoming impact. Tried the sweet potato and beet root salad to start, and I was surprised at the sheer volume of food. The presentation was simple and appealing, and the sesame dressing was an excellent complement to the salad. The potatoes were soft and flavorful, and the salad had a superb balance in flavors and textures. The mango smoothie added a pleasant richness to the light flavors of the salad. The mushroom aglio y olio was also excellent. The mushrooms were well cooked and not overly soft. The pasta was al dente and the hint of spiciness left a smile on my face as I enjoyed the stolen bites from my partner. The close of the meal was the matcha oatmeal bowl, and when it arrived, I knew I was going to have trouble finishing it, but I did my best. The matcha flavor wasn’t overpowering as it sometimes can be, and the amount of fruit was another happy surprise. This cafe/restaurant does not scrimp on ingredients nor the amount of food on the plate, and none of the taste is sacrificed. If you’re in Brunei, and you’d like either vegetarian or meat friendly options, give Little Audrey’s a try. Might go for breakfast...
Read moreShort of something great :( Went here for breakfast and had Audrey's Big Brekkie (Brioche, Beef Rashers, Scrambled Eggs) Audrey's Eggs Benny (Brioche), a Golden Latte and 2 glasses of cold water. Super nice to have options for the breakfast meals!
The food itself left a lot to be desired especially at the price-point. Portion-wise it was bang for your buck! The brioche (bread) was toasted just enough to hold the eggs but not get soggy. Poached eggs were perfect with just the right amount of hollandaise.
On the other hand, majority of the items on the plate, other than the bread and eggs, seriously needed wayyy more time on the pan and were barely warm. The tomatoes were tough and unpleasant to bite through, it also had a really strong raw-sourness to it. They usually become really sweet and juicy when cooked through but it wasn't the case for us. The mushrooms and potatoes were also a bit more tough than we would've liked for breakfast.
The golden latte was okay, I think someone went a bit overboard with the cinnamon because it overpowered the entire drink and it was grainy and uncomfortable on the throat even after stirring.
The staff was friendly and nothing out of the blue there. Perhaps the breakfast meals weren't the strong suit or I went on a bad day, I'll definitely come by again to try something else but I hope the review can be taken in to improve...
Read moreMy wife and I went to this cafe today at around 9am. We were looking for a cozy place to eat our breakfast and thought this place would be a great place. At the same time we were also trying to finish up our important project asap and so we brought along our laptop there hoping we could finish the project while having our meals.
What really upset us was the attitude and etiquette of the staff. First, they were quite loud when talking among themselves in their native language (not malay/english) at the counter/bar area . It made us feel uncomfortable and unable to fully enjoy our breakfast there as the cafe is abit small it further increased the echo of their voice
When we finished our breakfast we ordered some drink while working on our project. Little did we realized that it was almost noon time (11.40am) and suddenly there was this staff, a lady, (she is the barista) came to our table and just simply put the bill, telling us there are people who wanted to book this table and then she just left. We were taken aback her sudden and intrusive action, didn’t even ask if we are going to order some more food for lunch? I wouldn’t mind to leave the cafe but please be more respectful. Its a shame really, such a good place and meals but the experience was ruined by...
