Cakes Shop "Nedelya" — Restaurant in Sofia City

Honestly I’m not surprised with the amount of 1 star reviews all related to manager of this place Mr. Dimitro Hristov.

Still want to share my experience. Yesterday I sat with Nedeyla’s cake and coffee at the table and my husband joined me with food from another spot. Let me tell you that it’s a big food court, that was half empty, and yes they have stickers but in English it just says “no outside food allowed”, not mentioning the name of the business.

So we enjoyed our food peacefully when Mr. Hristov approached started talking to us in a rude manner, saying that my husband isn’t allowed to sit with me as the table is Nedelya’s property. My husband nicely offered to purchase some food from Nedelya so he could stay with me. Mr Hristov started pointing fingers, actively gesturing and he even said that “Ukrainians cannot read signs” we said that we came from Israel (it doesn’t matter what country we’re from it’s just ridiculous) and he said “Israelis are just the same, can’t read what’s written”.

This behavior is wrong on so many levels! Not only it’s not a way to treat customers, or to manage a business, most importantly it’s pure racism.

Then he called security, 2 guards came, we explained what happened (Mr. Hristov was denying what he just said all the way through) the guards apologized to us. Totally unacceptable and very disappointing.

Cake was fine, coffe- bad. Of course I couldn’t finish my meal as it was completely ruined.

I’m wondering why the chain management doesn’t take...

We were looking forward to seeing our friends to catch up so we decided to go to NEDELIA Cake shop in Sofia Ring Mall where we have been visiting many times before and had excellent service .

But today we had VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE!

We arrived early and ordered coffees . I was told that they don’t offer “flat white coffee” so I ordered coffee with milk instead for my husband and for myself I ordered an Americano . When Silina brought the drinks I was puzzled 🤨 My husband’s coffee was a very small espresso with separate tiny jug of cold milk and I had a huge glass of what can only be described as a weak black tea. I took my drink to the counter and questioned the order . The girl said with shocking attitude “This is how we serve Americano it’s in the menu ! “ I said I will have a look at the menu . When she came to the table she was very rude to us and said “If you don’t like our coffee YOU can go to another bar “ Her colleague came over to see what was happening and after I’ve told him he couldn’t believe that his coworker said this to us . He then told her to go back to the counter and leave us . Customer Service - non existent! To be insulted like this is UNACCEPTABLE and shouldn’t be tolerated. AVOID...

I had a meeting with a friend at Ring Mall yesterday. He suggested Starbucks. Not been familiar with the place I asked for the directions the staff at Nedelya. A lady politely started to explain to me when a man (obviously manager or supervisor abruptly interrupted us with the question "how I dare to ask for information about the competitors"! At first I took it as a joke but he made clear he is serious and I am not welcomed. To my suggestion that this is not the best way to stay above in the competition he nasty laughed at me turning his back. Pity because the shop offers really nice pastry and sweets and is famous with its production...
