Very nice experience.
This gourmet restaurant is run by the students of a culinary arts academy. This makes the atmosphere quite dynamic and takes off the overly posh setting of many gourmet restaurants. Come in casual or even with a suit, and you will feel ok. The menu is not too big, but not too small either, which guarantees quality.
The food is exceptionally good, and even though the cooks are students, they make an amazing job. The portions might be a bit small for some big stomachs, but a 4 course meal will be more than enough for most people. The gourmet side of the food doesn't go into completely weird creations. Instead, you will leave the restaurant remembering the food because it was tasty! There are special friday theme nights that have menus completely designed by the students, so they will be an amazing experience, as each one of them will put their ideas and creativity in there.
The service is also an upside of this place, as it is also run by students. Their head of service is a really nice and knowledgeable person who, you can see, loves his job.
Last but not least, the price... CHEAP. In most of cases, a 4 course menu here will be around the price of a main course in a casual restaurant anywhere in Europe. For lunch, you MUST try their 10 leva lunch menu. It's a 4 course menu for less than what you'd pay for a sandwich in Subway.
All in all, an amazing experience with one of the highest quality to price ratios I've ever seen.
P.S. If you go to a friday theme night, make sure to get a reservation. For 35 Leva,...
Read moreSamuel is a lovely host at the restaurant function area, very informative without over selling and Petya at the main reception has been welcoming with warm smile, easy to talk to and very approachable with ample answer to curious questions upon stumbling across this venue to which I was not aware of its existence.
Follow up; had decided to book a dinner the following day.
Samuel and Petya combined effortless appeal and charisma was still standing at the first encounter.
Starters: ordered Chef Jacques Pepin - Maman’s cheese soufflé which was cheese overload is perfect for cheese lovers with different layers and textures of cheese and palate cleanser from the walnut and Waldorf side salad as a perfect accompaniment. Served by the food runner and sharing recipe background.
Mains: Chef Julia Child - Coq au vin with homey vibes from the succulent and tender meat to the flavour bomb from the roasted vegetables on the side
Dessert: Chef Ramon Morato - Bourbun barrel had nice dark chocolate-y flavour with right amount of bitterness and a perfect end of meal treat with just the right hint of bourbon flavour not to over power the actual whisky drink I have had.
Very pleasant atmosphere and well engaged and attentive service from Samuel from constant check of how the meal were throughout the entire 3 course and the water top up without being asked. Superb friendly and warm approach without the over...
Read moreMy partner and I went to Talents for a romantic dinner. And it was for sure a nice and romantic night.
Service was impeccable and the place is really cool, even though a bit too much light and a lot of noise with makes it feel like IKEA cafeteria (nothing wrong with that but still hahaha)
Food wise, the execution was ok, we didn’t have any bad food but we do have a standard, maybe it’s because we’re French, maybe because we’re really into cuisine, but I do believe that the menu is not the best. There were no dishes that particularly stood out, and I would consider it over priced for the standard it’s supposed to offer.
As a starter there were French fried for 15 levas, as tasty as they are, I can’t believe it! On a high-end menu, it’s crazily not relevant, and in the end potatoes are potatoes, you can’t sell them for so much money.
In general we felt like it lacked finesse and research, but maybe this season’s menu was just not the best.
I craved new flavours, explosion in my mouth, amazing presentations, surprises and amazement, because this is what places like this one offer usually, but… this was not it.
I don’t feel bad when I have to pay a 200 levas bill for a very good restaurant, but this one was a bit painful to be honest. (150 for food + 50...
