We live in Boyana and have visited this restaurant a few times in the past to enjoy the traditional atmosphere. My experience in this restaurant today left me feeling very negative. Arrived with my family of 5 to be greeted by their valet guy who asked if we have reservations. We did not however he confirmed they have tables available and upon entering we were addressed in a very unprofessional rude manner by their staff. The time of our visit was at 4:30pm since my 3 year old daughter took a long nap we wanted a late lunch. After the 3rd rude waitstaff member approached us saying in a rude manner “what type of late lunch is 4:30?” We decided to leave. I’ve been to the restaurant before however after this unprofessional and terrible way of treating your customers I would never return and donut recommend for anyone. If you wish to support a nice local business, please look elsewhere where you will be greeted and appreciated as a guest and customer. We travel quite often and have visited over 40 countries but this type of treatment is only experienced in Bulgaria by people who have no idea what the definition of Customer Service Is. Never again. You...

This is a beautiful location for a cosy winter lunch, not without its issues.

The food was tasty, however one of the dishes was served on a plate that mustn't have been cleaned properly. A tomato and two of the кюфти tasted like they had been soaked in turpentine, while the rest of the plate was great. If not turpentine it was done sort of flammable solvent, I felt like I was about to vomit fire for hours afterwards.

When the bill came I paid by Google Pay with my phone. Both Google Pay and my bank showed that the transaction was successful, but a power issue with the restaurant meant that the restaurant didn't have their own verification. Staff were afraid they would have to pay for our meals from their own pocket, but I was unwilling to pay twice when it was clear the bank had already transferred the funds. This resulted in the staff following us out to the parking lot and making us very uncomfortable.

The decor is lovely.

Pictured food was a lamb soup and polenta with pork belly, which were both delicious. Mashed potato with egg was great, and it was only the plate with the veal kofte that was horrible, which was plate contamination, not...

Second time visiting this place with my family and guests. From the first moment I knew the service will be horrible since I saw our waiter face expression. Bulgarians know quite well what I am talking about..all the time he was looking angry and we felt like asking a favor of him while ordering..and he was almost rolling his eyes when asked for an additional cutlery for my kid, who managed to drop his on the floor.

Food was avarage this time compared to my first visit when I was plesently surprised but 3 years later quality was way down.

The vibe is great but unfortunately I will no longer recommend this place to anyone.

To the "younger" waiter that "serviced" us, I would recomend to watch some tutorials on youtube how to better do your job and perhaps try a smile with some positive attitude - sadly it is too much to ask from a 40-50 years old "professional" waiter. Българския манталитет не ти отива, дори и на такова традиционно място като Воденицата, по- скоро на село -...

Fine bulgarian restaurant with a folklor show. Excellent food. Recommendations: plate of assorted salads, lamb dish. Nice show.
