The location is very nice for Kep, with an extensive sea view and high ceilings, it has a high end golf resort restaurant feel but on the beach. The very front chairs closest to the water are of average quality, maybe because more exposure to the elements, so better to sit back deck with the cushioned seating where the view is still very nice. The bathroom is exceptionally clean, although I don’t think they have soap dispensers ? Only a bar of soap, maybe I’m mistaken but believe that’s what I saw. Many prefer dispensers as they don’t like to share a bar with other people (minor detail) I would say that the food and drink is well presented by staff and of good appearance and quality. Definitely better than most places in Kep for the presentation and service. Anywhere else in the region it would be considered overpriced, But Kep is just generally overpriced for food. For example i have stayed at five star resorts in luxurious beach settings and paid less, I most definitely wouldn’t recommend this venue for someone looking purely to get good tasting Khmer food at a mid to low price point. (But they don’t advertise themselves as that option anyway)
Overall compared to the kep market and little beach huts serving the same crab and seafood dishes over and over again it makes a nice change and the serenity and service make it an pleasent experience. It would be unfair to say it’s bad value for money, because the food and drinks were well prepared, servers well dressed and ‘reasonably attentive, (one lady didn’t smile much but she handled the food with elegance) and the scene is pretty with a comfortable sea breeze and a beautiful mountainous back drop. You are paying for an experience of service, food and views as opposed to just ‘eating’.
Would reccomend for people looking for alternative food options to the repetitive crab market options, couples on a romantic break, instagram and photography hobbyists and people like myself who just want to chill in a clean, comfortable setting without...
Read moreMy motivational feedback on this place is about its' sea scenery where you will feel relaxed and sea sunset view during evening with a glass of cocktail or any kind of soft drink that you like. My developmental feedback is about VOSS which Norwegian-based bottle water that we have ordered at first for one bottle and then we have ordered for second bottle but with this second bottle that restaurant has just taken our first empty bottle to refill and have brought it back, so we are wondering whether the water in second bottle that it is really VOSS water. The main problem in here is that in billing that it has been charged for full cost of 2 bottles. What I am trying to state here is that in case it is charged, the restaurant must deliver us with a new VOSS water bottle that is not the refilled water with existing bottle that we have...
Read morePositives: nice view of the ocean, cool ocean breeze, friendly staff and quick service, food quality is average
Negatives: menu options are fairly boring (the old Sailing Club restaurant was much better), food is overpriced ($14-16 for a pizza, $16 for a burger, $17 for lok lak), no coconut water available, and the nearby beach is littered with trash (see picture).
This place has potential to be a great spot. But right now, it's just average. They really need to re-think the menu and come up with some more creative options (for example, the menu at the Strand at Knai Bang Catt). Also, they really should have some of their staff take care of the beach and pick up the trash. If you want to charge high prices, then you need to make the surrounding...
