Canbe Foods — Restaurant in Ajax

I dont know where to start! Wish there was a no star option. We ordered food for a birthday party for about 10 people from ajax location. The worst place to order on short notice!!! As a foodie i was very disgusted looking at it and even felt worse eating it. We ordered string hopper kothu(they used frozen veges), chicken and mutton kothu, dry fish fry (completely inedible), mutton curry (tasted days old pieces were still frozen), butter chicken (tasted nothing like butter chicken, it was cream and baked chicken mixed),and roti which was stale. The string hopper kothu had dry fish in it, there was no flavour, it was like they mixed all the last night leftover together and said oh its a new twist. The mutton curry is popular among asian ppl, but this was the worst ive ever had, you can smell the spoiled curry from far away. This is what happens when you leave the food in the food warmer from morning and give to people at night. The neathelee karuvadu, tasted like it was 2 days old reheated and mixed in some chilli paste. The kothus had no flavour, very dry and barely any meat or lime flavour. Please i beg you dont buy food from here unless you want to get food poisoning. I seriously think the owner needs to hire some chefs who actually care about cooking! For customer service I will give this place 1 star rating . Very very poor quality service especially the way their employees are being treated. The manager is a woman who treated her well mannered employees Anthony with extreme rudeness and disrespect.Infact she was harrassing him .. and I witnessed this. I would recommend that the owners immediately fire that manager who cannot seem to respect the staff. When asked her why she was being rude she said she cannot yell at the customer so she is taking it on her employee. If this is the treatement extended I suggest people should boycott Canbe Ajax until the owners remove that woman manager ASAP .

Even worse .. she went back into the kitchen (all of which i was watching thru the square window) and told the chef to make a mutton kothu with no meat all. the kothu was super! super bad .. that we found not only no meat ,but there was hair in the food.

If the owners do not fire this woman I will be making a formal complaint with HRDC and will open up an investigation for the mis treatement of their employee Anthony.

Anthony is a customer friendly and caring individual and should be promoted to management. Furthermore that manager woman said "he dare not speak ill" of her in an authorative voice like she was threatening Anthony.

Rice & Biryani always cold consistently, everything is way way over spiced & " under flavoured"! Even after being a South East Asian, I don't enjoy the way food is extremely oily, way over spicy to a level that it's bugs the tummy afterwards for couple of days. Neither the Biryani ( which contains meat) is ever served hot ( until you buy when they freshly made it) nor they bother to heat it while packing. They sell biryani cooked around noon time till past 8-9 pm, almost cold & smelly. This place will fail in food safety at many levels. Also, I have even seen a few people asking over the counter to bring the spice level down. I have tried dosa a few times & stuffing is not tastful, instead try Dosarama( delicious & flavour kept alive in dose stuffing & coconut Chutney ). Won't be going back here again!!
