Captain Pizza — Restaurant in Alberta

I found this gem last year in August when I was camping at Smoke Lake. We went in for a Donair and it was absolutely amazing! I should have left a review then but I don't do many reviews. However I loved it so much that I made sure to come back this year while I was at Smoke Lake again for the camping season. I made it my mission to try as many things on the menu as possible while I was there. The service is outstanding. The owner and his family are absolutely amazing! The burgers are delicious, my favorite is the mushroom swiss followed closely by the Captain burger. As I said the donairs are absolutely amazing! The pizza is fantastic and just as good the next day, cold, straight from the fridge. The subs are wonderful and the milkshakes well let me tell you they are absolutely to die for they are so thick and creamy. You would do yourself a disservice by not stopping here and trying it out. I will be back for camping again next year and as soon as I go back they will be my first stop after my camper is set up. Thank you so much to everyone at Captain pizza for making me feel special every time I walk through your door. I look forward to seeing you all again next year in May, until then take care and keep being the special people that you are as it comes through in everything...

Well holy crap!! Pardon my French. Pizza to me like with a lot of people is my favourite food but every pizza I’ve ordered has left me wanting. Weather it has too much meat, or too much cheese, or too little of either, weather the crust was burnt or was just soggy. Seemed I could never find the perfect pizza….until today!! I called and ordered one large pizza with lots of pepperoni and extra cheese and asked if I could get the pepperoni on top of the cheese so it gets crispy and I was told that’s how they do it anyhow. Perfect!! That’s the way it’s supposed to be done!! I picked up the pizza and he explained to me how it was made. He couldn’t fit all the pepperoni on top so layered it with the cheese with the final layer on top. So let me just tell you!!! This was the perfect pizza. The crust was crispy and firm but not burnt with their signature crispy cheese around the edges, the sauce to cheese and topping ratio was perfect with just the right amount of “zing”, don’t know how else to put it, the pepperoni was perfectly crispy to add a little bit of crunch, and the cheese was fresh and yummy and even had a cheese pull. I can honestly say I don’t ever want to eat pepperoni pizza from anywhere...

I love Captain Pizza! There isn’t one where I live, so I’m only lucky enough to enjoy their pizza when I’m working in the Fox Creek or Valleyview area. I’m honestly surprised that they don’t have more locations. What I love the most about their pizza is that they put their toppings all the way to the edge, so if you aren’t a fan of crust, the way they make their pizza is absolutely perfect! Their pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get, and I think their pizza quality is great!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Nancy at the Fox Creek location. She was amazing, and as someone who worked in customer service for years back in the day, I definitely appreciated her on the other end of the phone. She remembered me from a previous order and helped me put together the best value for my buck. I only spoke with the owner briefly and on one occasion, but my impression of him was also really good.

I can’t say enough good things about this place, so, if you want great pizza from great people, order from Captain Pizza! They were recommended to me by someone and I will continue pass that recommendation forward. Thanks for being my go-to in this area when I get that...
