Greenhead Motel & Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

What a great place, just the sort of place I needed to stay in. First I booked in by phoning directly, talked to the most enjoyable manager. He offered to upgrade me to a kitchenette unit, which I appreciated.

I got unit 55, one of the motel units. It backs onto the green way. It is situated in a way that eliminates any traffic noise or lights, super quiet. I loved what looked like new pine wood planking walls and wood laminate floors.

The kitchen is separated from the beds and desk area. Full size fridge, with ice maker, full sized electric stove and oven combo plus a micro wave.

Did I mention how clean this unit was? Oh a nicely powered AC unit too.

The crispness of the tv reminded me I should upgrade my own.

The wifi was week but by the time you read this they will have put in a direct line to the unit which should give you full bars to work with.

Small town friendly staff, a joy to talk to. Their breakfast kitchen opens at 9, a bit late for my needs, I was on a course that started 30 min out at 9.

One unique thing about the Greenhead Motel is they offer guests a free bag lunch, perfect for those on the go. My program had a lunch so I did not need to sample it. I am confident it would be tasty.

This is a nice budget motel at reasonable price with the FREE breakfast included! Beds were ok, hard mattresses and old flat pillows that need changing. Not very orthopedic. This is the primary reason for staying so this needs to be kept up to par! Bathroom is probably the 2nd most important. While showering, the tub fills with water while the drain is still unplugged. Plumbing is slow. Again, part of the price we pay right? The rest of the room was actually quite nice. A/C worked well, adequate plug-ins for phone and other devices. Fridge provided ample storage space. The restaurant was very nice and the free breakfast was great except they couldn't get me pancakes for some reason. Oh well, bacon and eggs on toast and hashbrowns is a nice alternative!

I've stayed here several times and enjoy the budget pricing and for that I dont expect too much, however the beds need to be comfortable regardless. They are the whole reason for staying. Flat pillows are cheap and easy to replace! When were they last renewed? A bit softer mattress would have made it much nicer. Better than sleeping...

Totally decided in advance that this was where I was going to stop on my way from Calgary to North Battleford, because I always plan my business trips ahead. I had checked out their website and the place looked cool. Staff were super fun and friendly, and also all laughed at me when they caught me taking the photo for this review, haha! I set up my "office" in one of their small booths, got plenty of work done, and then enjoyed a wicked club sandwich and the best bowl of cream of cauliflower soup that I've ever had. Will stop here any time I get the chance! The name on my cheque was Tyson, and he was super cool, but so was the girl who cooked. And the girl who took my payment was a great conversationalist who did not judge me when my debit receipt printed out in French, which I REALLY appreciate given some of the other experiences I've had in small towns in Alberta when that happens!
