Kooyman Bakery — Restaurant in Alberta

I am not sure who the other reviews are given from, but this bakery has gone downhill ever since there has been different people that have taken over, bought the business or renting.

The atmosphere is tense and uncomfortable - you are invading their space. The sweets that are freshly made have no flavour, very little selection, not even enough sugar. No extras whatsoever.

The stuff made elsewhere has no taste either and was pre-made obviously. Maybe their bread is good.

But this place used to be BRILLIANT. People would talk about it. Whoever runs it now is just "running" it. Mostly bread I guess. Very disappointing. Sorry ladies.

Unlike many other bakeries around the city, this one does not make made to order sandwiches. You can only buy premade. I can only review the premade pizza sub, and please don’t waste your time or money. The bun itself was fresh and tasty, as one would expect from a bakery; but any of the fillings inside were a complete afterthought. Little to no pizza sauce, scarce on meat, and even when warmed (by the store) was room temp. This is a great bakery overall for pastries but I got my birthday cake here yesterday and they charged extra to put writing on the cake and the cake bored they used was a thin little pice of cardboard that was smaller then the cake. We took the cake to a restaurant and the servers had to bring the cake in the cake box to be served as there was no actual cake bored. I love supporting local but I don't think I'll be getting any more cakes for celebrations here again. Other cakes I've gotten from other baker's always had a thick cake bored to display the cake and never charged...
