The 1906 Bistro - Bar — Restaurant in Alberta

I was in Didsbury the other day with my wife. We were looking for a place to eat. She googled where to eat, and came across a spot called 1906.

From the very first step inside I was impressed. It's a small and well laid out little place. The staff was very polite and helpful with the menu. Our waitress told us about the specials and explained them very well.

I ordered the 8 ounce steak with the whiskey peppercorn sauce and my wife ordered a chicken wrap.

Our order came out pretty quick, without the long painful wait you probably experienced at other restaurants. The food was hot and smelled amazing.

My steak was by far the most amazing steak I have ever had. When I told my wife how amazing it was she said. " It must be really good because we go out for dinner a lot and I've ordered steaks in many other places that were known to have great steak"

It was soooo tender you could cut it with your fork. The flavor was out of this world. I said it and will stand by it. "I have never had a better steak." The chef came out to ask how our meals were. It was over the top good from the first bite.

I took a bite of my wife's wrap and the flavor in it exploded in my mouth. The combination of flavors work so well together it was amazing.

I don't eat salads very much and I tried the one that came with my steak. The homemade salad dressing on my salad was crazy good. I ate the whole salad. I never eat the salad with any meal. I did not leave a bite of that salad behind. Ate every piece.

To sum it all up. 1906 is in Didsbury, and about an hour drive in one direction from our home. We will definitely be driving back to Didsbusy just to eat at 1906 again. To be honest as I'm writing this. I want to go back again right now.

It's by far one of the best places we have ever eaten in. There is not enough words to explain how amazing it was.

The restaurant I visited is called "Bistro 1906". As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I was impressed by the pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The decorations and lighting create a wonderful ambiance that is suitable for both romantic dinners and gatherings with friends.

The staff was very professional and attentive. They did everything possible to make my stay in the restaurant as comfortable as possible. I was offered a wide selection of dishes from various cuisines around the world. I ordered a steak with fried vegetables, and my friends ordered fish and pasta. All the dishes were very tasty and looked very appetizing.

But what impressed me the most was the dessert - Black Forest cake. It was, without exaggeration, one of the best desserts I have ever had. The coffee and tea were also very tasty and fresh.

Fantastic little place. The vibe is immaculate, and they have honest to god chefs in the kitchen. I'm not 100% sure because I forgot to ask, but the pasta looks and tastes like it's made in-house. The pappardelle was absolutely amazing, as was their Greek appetizer plate that was on special. I got a wrap that was really good, but I was jealous of my table mate's pasta the entire time. Pricing is pretty average, if you just stick to entrees and non-alcoholic drinks, you could get away with a nice date night for $50-60. Not only are they a restaurant though, they're also a cafe and bar. You can come in for a coffee and pastry to-go in the morning, a sandwich for lunch, and top it off with a handcrafted cocktail and handmade pasta for dinner, with a scoop of gelato for dessert.
