The Butter Chicken Co. Fairview — Restaurant in Alberta

1st time going to the Butter Chicken. BF ordered a mushroom burger, fries & gravy. I ordered the chicken cordon blue with baked potato & seasonal veggies. BF said his the burger was good. Looked like real mushrooms not canned which is nice. CCB was cooked nicely. Was strange eating one that wasn't over cooked for once. In fact... Think this was the 1st time I had one cooked perfectly. It was hot and nice and juicy. Never had it with sauce before. It tasted like Dijon mustard. I like mustard so this was a nice change. If your not a mustard person ask for less or none. Baked potato comes "dry" you'll have to ask for the add ons. Butter, sour cream, chives. Veggies were cooked perfectly. Hot and crunchy. They come "dry" as well. I had a plate of carrots with a couple of peices of broccoli. Service is very nice, pleasant & friendly. Just very slow. There was approximately 5 tables (13-ish people. 2 waitresses) When our plates had been cleared, the waitress never came back to or table. We wanted to order dessert but after 15-20 minutes waiting for her to come back we got tired of waiting and just got up to leave. We're not sure where she went to. This restaurant boasts absolutely delicious foods. Steaks are cooked exactly how you order them... I like mine medium where my husband will only eat them well done. Sides are real, fresh steamed veggies- NOT overcooked and mushy! Things tasted fabulous. The atmosphere is excellent and the chief and owner are amazing and care for the customers.

I only went with 4 stars because the servers are a bit slow and tend to forget to check on your beverages... It might be good to offer water to all your guests. Especially since drinks are served by the bottle. This is my second time there, and both times there were slight issues with the servers translating parts of my order to the kitchen (ie: forgotten appies or beverages). Both times the problems were fixed but this can be a bit frustrating to a guest.

I didn't try the butter chicken, at $25/plate it seemed steep for what is usually a pretty bland dish. The menu really undersold the curries, with basic safe descriptions that advertised a 'significant amount of gravy'

I went with a cowboy burger and it was pretty average. The patties are heavily processed and have the texture of a burger with a lot of binders. I opted for no bun, but my sad burger with a chunk of iceberg lettuce and tomato made a disappointing presentation. Overall the meat quality was pretty awful.

The salad is typical small town salad, cucumber, chunky carrot iceberg lettuce and two cherry tomatoes. Everything is what you'd expect, which is totally fair.
