I went to The Pass Beer Co. during a friends bachelorette party a couple weeks ago. There were 6 of us, so we initially sat outside at one of the picnic tables on the grass. It was nice to start but it quickly became windy and cold and we were hoping to move to a more sheltered table. There were two of the fireplace tables available. We waited a while for our waitress to come, to ask if we could move, but we were very cold so we decided to just move tables. We sat down and were feeling a lot more comfortable/less cold and then a waitress came up to us (not ours) and told us we could not sit there as the seating was "first come first serve". We were a bit confused about this response as there wasn't anyone sitting there, but nonetheless we moved back to our original table. Shortly after our waitress came and we explained that we were cold, and asked if we COULD move. She told us we could, so again, we brought all of our stuff over to the other table. Not long after the waitress who told us to move initially, walks by shaking her head at us. Then she comes over and says "you guys need to go back to your table". We explained our waitress told us we could move back here. She defensively asked who our waitress was and rushed off. At this point we all were feeling quite uncomfortable, and were ready to just have our food packed up and leave. We were simply trying to celebrate our friend, and here we felt like we were in the middle of a table feud. Then our original waitress comes over and explains that the table we moved to was in the other waitress' section (which she could have just said in the first place) and we would have to move, but there was a table inside that we could go to. So for the fourth time, we move tables again, thankfully to a warm space. We requested to speak with the manager as we were quite disappointed with the experience. When we talked to her, she was understanding, but nothing was offered to make our experience better. As this is a brewery I should touch on the food/beer - we enjoyed our food and drinks, but our experience was less than pleasant. Overall - I can't say I would make a special stop to this brewery when travelling through the...
Read moreWorst service ever. I think this place quite easily takes the prize for worst service I’ve ever had. We were coming through the area from Calgary and decided to stop in for some dinner. Arrived and inside dining area was completely full with reserved signs. We were told we could have a seat outside. All of the empty tables in the covered areas also had reserved signs so we sat at the tables in the grassy area. No problem. Well we sat there 15 mins before we had to chase someone down for a menu. It was another 15 mins after that before anyone came to take our drink order . 45 mins after arriving we finally got our drinks…When the server brought our drinks she quickly rushed off before we could try to make our food order. When she finally came back to take our food order she made a bunch of excuses multiple times about how their system was down so she had to write everything by hand.Im sorry, I could understand a bit of delay for this, but this was absurd. Worst of all, nobody seemed apologetic at all and nothing at all was done to make up for it. The way the delay was handled was worse than the delay itself.
Anyway we eventually got our order in and our food arrived 2.5 hours after our arrival. Unbelievable. I wanted to walk out but the kids were hungry and tired and I didn’t want to waste more time looking around. While we waited we watched the 2 tables around us who arrived after us get served. The food was ok, the beer was good and I would have ordered a second if I could have gotten service. I could see people in the covered area getting beer and service while they still had full cups, but for some reason the servers were ignoring the grassy area.
When we finally got up to leave we noticed some of the tables inside with reserved signs were STILL empty, while we had sat outside in the cold and rain for nearly 3 hours. Would definitely NEVER...
Read moreThe owner invited me out to come check out the pass beer co. I brought my wife and the inlaws out to give it a try and it did not dissapoint. We started off by ordering a few flights of samples to try out the different beers brewed on site. All of the ones we tried were really good. I am not usually a craft beer drinker but these beers were some of the best craft beers i have tried. My personal favorites were the whiskey six and coffee vanilla cream ale. My mother in law who is not a beer drinker liked the mexican cervesa beer. We ordered wings and fire grilled pizza for dinner. The crowsnest coffee dry rub on the wings is something we have not had or seen anywhere else and they were awesome. We had a margherita pizza and the italian easter pizza both were amazing, good crust and good value. We did not try the poutines but we saw some go out and they were massive portions and looked delicious. We highly reccomend if you live here or are driving thru to come check it out and give it a try. We ended up ordering a few growlers of beer to take home and drinking both of them when we got home lol. We will definitely be back when we come down to the crowsnest for...
