The food at the roadside grill, makes me think they picked up roadkill and had to cook it to second death. Caesar salad is over dressed, the chicken on the salad was dry with no flavour. I had chicken wings that made me regret it instantly. The wings were burnt and the BOH clearly haven’t changed the deep fryer oil in quite some time.
My wife’s wrap had no sauce in it, so it was dry wrap with vegetables. Fries were cold on delivery for both my son and wife.
When asked how everything was, I resorted to No comment because the laundry list is full. I then let them know the complaints. Not only did it fall upon deaf ears but there was no compensation off the bill. We had maybe 3 or 4 bites for each meal and then left everything on the table.
They need some serious training at the front of house and back of house as the importance of these issues are not just for my benefit, but for the future of this perfectly...
Read morefirst time i stopped there the sign said to wait to be seated; it wasn't busy {just one table of six} but it took a while to be told "sit anywhere" {why couldn't the sign say that?}. Then it took a while to be brought a menu. Rather than have to wait more i just ordered brown toast, eggs and hashbrowns. It took a while to be served {looked thru the whole farm machinery sales catalogue}. Got white toast and a bill for $16! (included coffee but no refill). That's what i get for not looking at the menu. What should have been a half hour stop took an hour. One star rating.
On the return trip i stopped again determined to look at the menu. The place was busy (3/4 full) but i'm seated quickly. Ah cheese omelette with pancakes and hash browns $12.50. It took a while to arrive but it was delicious. The waitress was charming and with humourous kibbitzing five...
Read moreWaited to be seated as per their sign. Then told, “sit anywhere.” Then waited a very long time for menus. Then waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to return and take our food order. Then waited and waited for said food. Then food arrives. A salad made with browned lettuce and tomatoes that tasted “off.” Then fish and chips with cold fries and battered fish that was over cooked in old grease. Battered fish shouldn’t be a very dark brown in colour. Then the reminders about our order to the waitress when she was racing past the table….”could I have the side of mayo that I ordered?” “Could I get my milk please?” Never once were we asked how our food was because we rarely ever saw the waitress! Third and last try at this...
