Visiting PEI for a staycation, and this bakery was on our list of places to go. I'm so pleased we went! First of all, their prices are very reasonable, surprising actually, especially for the quality! They have a breakfast menu (until 11) and a lunch menu; all of which are down home, comfort food meals cooked in an open, family style kitchen. The team works like a well oiled machine. I loved it! We had originally just gone in for a hot drink, but ended up staying in for lunch and dessert, too. On their retail shelves they have bread, buns, cookies, loaves, macaroons, brownies, etc. In their display case there's even more tempting items - carrot cake, cheesecake, coconut cream pie, sticky toffee pudding, lemon squares, butterscotch pie and more! On the counter near the cash register they also had single cookies, cinnamon buns, muffins, turnovers... a lot of variety. Growing up, whenever we went camping, my dad would make these amazing doughnuts. I've tried a few times to make them myself but never successfully. This place sold the most delicious cinnamon sugar cake doughnuts; I could've cried they reminded me so much of my dads. A tray of four is $1.75 (seriously?!) and it didn't even make it home. For lunch we had the BLT and I had the sloppy joe. Both were delicious. For each of us to have a lunch, hot beverage and doughnuts was just under $16. This place is certainly a mainstay in this community; we're glad we went!

Alberton was our destination for a day trip Up West in PEI. First time visit here had us stopping two ladies to ask for open restaurants . They told us 3 with high push towards this bakery/cafe. It was a great choice. With very friendly staff and a wide menu to choose from, we selected the halibut full meal. Delish! Fresh bun and coleslaw came with it. Very reasonable prices. Sorry can"t comment on bakery but all the breads and baked items looked tempting.

Menu is limited but service is very quick and meals are quite reasonable in price. Food is very good. Usually have meal within a couple minutes of ordering.

This place is fantastic! We stumbled upon it for lunch...Sloppy Joe and Ceasar Salad! Are you kidding? Did you see me coming and prepare something special for me! Ridiculously good! The chowder was excellent and it was one of the very few places we were able to get lunch for our 5 year old that didn't involve french fries! He had Macaroni Meat and Cheese! It was huge and he actually ate most of it and then didn't have to eat constantly the rest of the day! The pastries were fantastic as well. If you live here you're likely a regular already. If you are anywhere near (say in PEI) stop by! We went back for breakfast...

I’m so surprised this place had good reviews. I wanted to buy date squares for my family and asked if they were made with lard or butter...the lady at the counter looked at me annoyed and replied “what do you mean?”. I said, “I’m vegetarian so are these made with lard or butter?” She responded “they’re just date squares” and looked at me as though I were annoying her...the restaurant was nearly empty! So either they don’t bake anything on the premises or they don’t know what they are putting in their baked goods...just weird and very unwelcoming. Never going back and will skip this town alltogether next time...
