Boathouse Cafe - Golden Beach — Restaurant in Alnwick/Haldimand

We had dinner here tonight and enjoyed it very much. We love Brisket Daddy's original restaurant on Hwy 7, so we wanted to check out their Boathouse Cafe as well and try some of the new menu items we saw advertised online. We do not live or vacation at Golden Beach Resort, but were provided quick access at the gate so we could go to the restaurant. I had smoked pulled pork nachos, which were so good, and so huge I had to take over half home with me to enjoy later. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his smoked brisket sandwich and tots. The brisket just melts in your mouth and the tots were very tasty and crispy. Hubby had a craft beer, and I had a fountain pop that they included for free with my meal purchase. I attended the restaurant with my wife for dinner on August 3, 2025 about 6:30 PM. Was told that they would provide us service if we were to sit at the patio. We only ordered two main meals and 1 hour later they still didn't put our order through, nor did they provide us any water while waiting. When I went to the inside the two ladies working the cash register and serving appeared very busy, disorganized and confused. There were two gentlemen cooks working the back as well. They too looked very busy and overwhelmed. I had to ask one of the ladies about getting the ice water we ordered and the status of our door order. The one lady told me that honestly it was going to be another 45 mins to 1 hour. I just told her to cancel my orders, which she appeared to happily oblige. Drove over 50 mins to eat at the restaurant made reservations for 9 people to get there to find out there is only like 4 things on the menu. Their spring menu. So note their full menu doesn't go into affect until July 1 week. Nothing gluten free ( which their is usually is lots of options), nothing dairy free or vegan. ( which they usually do) Not enough serves on the help the customers. So out of our party of 9 only 3 people could Eat. We were going to watch the music there is nothing close to go grab food.
