The woman that served us was somewhat friendly but also somewhat unfriendly even rude in my opinion. There were several comments she made that made at least me, feel like she'd rather not have us here and have more free time for instance telling us that she had an early rise tomorrow or that food would need time to be prepared (I know that I am not in a fast food chain). On the other hand when she seated us and put some steropore plates and forks, knives and spoons each wrapped up in their own plastic bag and even the soy sauce in small portions...I felt like I was indeed in a fast food chain. I won't comment such a bad environmental behaviour any further.
When we asked what several dishes were she just said that she didn't have time to explain all of those further but went on telling us that everything here would be good because her husband's the best cook. Well we still have no answer to those questions.
The service further on was okay she also checked up on us if we were all right. The food was good indeed, though I have eaten better Asian food already. But there is nothing to complain about concerning the food.
It depends if you can handle the bads if they are not of importance to you then go ahead. I know there are worse places and I wouldn't compare it to those if it wasn't called a restaurant to eat in as well as take out.
And we didn't leave hungry which is the most important part! The price and the portion you get are good!
For me this was the last time I ate there because I travel further anyways. But if I had the choice, specifically the environmental reasons would keep me from going in again. My boyfriend didn't mind so much, he didn't think it was good for the peoduced waste either but it wouldn't keep him from coming back...
Read moreVery average Canadian style Chinese food. Limited menu for Chinese dining. I thought the food would be really tasty based on the other Google reviews. Maybe it's the best Chinese food in Amherst and all the other Chinese places are terrible, so the people of Amherst have no real comparison to what great Chinese food should taste like. Again, it wasn't bad or gross, but it wasn't remarkable either. It was standard Canadian style chinese food. The egg rolls were the best part, the fried rice was a 1 star fail. The chicken chow mein was good too, and I'm not a big fan of Chick chow mein in general. A tad filthy inside, I'll post a picture or two if I can. Peace. Try the Long Dragon in Lwr Sackville, NS if you're ever in the Halifax area and you want the best Canadian/authentic Chinese food in Nova Scotia, best I've had in North America I'd say. I encourage you to order General Gao's spicy chicken if you do hit up the...
Read moreWas practically 20m late with my food. She pushed my order cause I couldn’t be there exactly when she said to be so I show up at the later time “slot” and they end up making me wait 20 min past the time she explicitly told me to be there. And when it was time to get my food at 7:45 she didn’t say anything about being busy or behind on orders or give me any sort of heads up that I might have to wait around. I was just left wondering if I was ever going to get my order. absolutely terrible customer service it takes 2 seconds to let someone know...
