Ruby King Restaurant — Restaurant in Amherstburg

I never write negative reviews, but this time I felt I had to. I ordered a chicken ball meal and paid over $15 for pick-up, once I got home I tried to eat my food and I could only have the soup and egg roll, which were pretty good. The sweet and sour sauce though was completely inedible and the chicken balls were stale. Usually I can handle any quality of fried rice by putting sweet and sour on it, but the sauce was just so aweful and the rice was so bland. I'm not sure if there was a mistake with the sauce recipe, but I really hope so. I feel so bad for writing this review, but I wish I had read a review like this before spending that amount of money on a cheat day just to throw out the majority of my meal. Had trouble finding a full menu online and ended up going inside the restaurant. I thought I’d just post pictures of the menu for anyone who needs them. The food was not as good as I had hoped for… the chicken balls and breaded pork had way too much breading for the small amount of meat and the chop suey and rice was okay, but again, not the best. I don’t usually leave reviews and I hate to leave a bad one but we could not even eat the takeout here. We thought we’d try it since all the higher rated Chinese restaurants in Amherstburg and Lasalle were closed. The food smelled and tasted of cigarettes and was not fresh (especially the fried rice and chicken). The red sauce was a different taste, colour and consistency than what is usually served with chicken. We had to throw it away. I should have known when I picked up our takeout and saw the sign saying no refunds/no talking...
