Location: very good. Acceptable parking, easy to find, well signed.
Facility: kinda run down. I wouldn't say filthy, but, grungy? I dunno how to explain it. Let's say not clean.
Staff: somewhat disorganized, but they seemed kind of overrun. It was lunch hour and there were only 2 serves and 1 cook. Given that's all that is scheduled on I can understand their somewhat chaotic appearance.
This used to be one of the better chicken chef franchises in Manitoba. Not sure what's changed but it's really going down hill fast.
I ordered a grilled chicken breast meal. Which comes with an option of a potato, or potato cooked a different way, or potato salad, which I found sadly amusing. The meal was... 16 bucks plus tax!
I received the thinnest chicken breast I've ever seen which was rubbery and tough. It's was maybe 4"x3"x0.5" weighing maybe 75 grams. I highly doubt the mashed potatoes I received would even equal a half a cup. The other "side" might as well not mention, as it came in a tiny cup, and not very good.
For the price, I left here pretty unsatisfied.
I wanted to say something about that, but what's the point. The serves just work here, they don't set prices or option sizes.
I suggest looking for other options. It's really not worth it. There's a subway, a decent restaurant across the street in the hotel, and a great little coffee and sandwich shop up the street. There's also zans along the highway, but I haven't been there in...
Read moreI'm not sure if it's under new ownership or not. The food has gone completely down hill, I came here with my father, who was out from Nova Scotia in early afternoon, the waitress came to take our drink orders (looked very unpleasant and seemed like she couldn't be bothered with being there) and we all wanted coffee, we were told to get up and get the coffee ourselves very rudely, so my husband piped up and asked "Is it at least fresh?" She rolled her eyes and walked away from us, and then another server came to take our orders. She was nice and was kind enough to serve us some coffee. On another occasion, I brought my children out for dinner, and I ordered soup, and my goodness, it was absolutely awful tasted as if it came from a can or bag, the potatoes in it were so darn soggy you didn't even have to chew as soon as it hit my mouth it was as if it just melted. Yucky. Very sad, as I used to be a usual customer when the food was good. Very expensive for very low quality food. And yes, I have to agree with other reviewers that the fountain drinks are not good at all and have a off...
Read moreI’m not one for leaving reviews, let alone bad reviews, but this place was terrible. The staff is unfriendly, and they were all sitting at a dining table while one waitress was serving us (meanwhile they were also telling our waitress to do something else). They didn’t check to see if we enjoyed the food, they kept looking over at us while we ate, the food itself was rancid. My friend bit into his chicken and couldn’t even bite through it, so he didn’t eat it. The ingredients they use aren’t fresh, the chicken seems store-bought and I’m 100% certain I could’ve made a better meal at home and spent way less money. Their fountain drinks are terrible as well, I believe they don’t clean it, or there’s a crack between the two liquid storages and they seep into one another. All in all, terrible experience, never going back. The one in Gimli, however, is pretty good and definitely worth the...
