Usually I love the Roy's Towne Pub, but tonight I left the establishment frustrated. Not all their fault, as I had already had a long day and my expectation was to have a nice, relaxing evening with friends. However, after being told there was no bacon for the special Caesar one friend wanted; hearing there was no sauce to make the appy we wanted; no wings for my Celiac friend, who then wanted to order the "GF" butter chicked, to then be told it wasn't actually gluten free; and my friend's second drink was not brought out or forgotten to be made - it was a few too many "no's" and things going wrong for one night. And then my Celiac friend didn't want anything else from the menu, so I wanted to cancel our order of ribs but they were plated so I felt best that we just take them and ask them to go so that we could eat them at home instead of watching my Celiac friend wait for us to finish eating, knowing that she was hungry herself. Given, there were other GF options on the menu but none she felt like and it is frustrating that we found out about her wing situation and non-GF butter chicken so close to our ribs coming out and too late to cancel our order. Our server was lovely and apologetic but I was surprised when no compensation was made for all the lack and inconvenience. Unfortunately, it left a bad taste...

We were visiting the area and had dinner reservations elsewhere. We drove by earlier in the day, the lot was packed and a quick Google search of their website showed a really interesting place. We cancelled the other reservation and threw caution to the wind as we couldn't get a reservation at Roy's but showed up at 6 to see if we could get in. The place was full, a duo was playing live music but there was going to be a short 20 minuteish wait. The wait time allowed us to watch plate upon plate of food go by, each dish looking even better than the last. The friendly staff worked hard to get us a table and after the short 20 min wait we were seated. A diverse crowd of all ages filled the place and everyone was having a great time. They had a tremendous selection of beers, great specials and a very complete menu. This review could go on and on, but suffice to say, great staff, great atmosphere and tremendous food. We will definately be back as soon as we can and will attempt a Sunday brunch next time because if we could have, we would have stayed an extra day...

I used to have a 5 star review but have changed it. I don't know what's happened but the food quality has really gone downhill. The buns for the burgers are extremely soggy, the amount of grease on the bun itself is way too much. The burgers tend to fall apart and the toppings slide out into your hand, your lap or the plate. 3 times in a row I received broken tiny little fries that are too small to dip. The 4th time I asked to please be given full sized fries, they assured me I would, I still recieved what looked like the bottom of the bag fries. I had so many years of great experiences here that I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying again, I won't be any longer, after around half a dozen times with the same result we've decided not to eat here any more. The staff seem friendly enough but I went here for the food and the live music, foods not great anymore and the last time I was there the music was so loud there...

We stopped in here for lunch at Christmas time as we heard it was good. When we arrived just after noon the wait staff were discussing their shifts and continued to do so while we sat and waited for service. We ordered fish and chips and a chicken burger with fries. Fish fillet was very thin and fries were way overcooked and hard. The burger was fine. This place was not very Covid friendly as tables were too close together with no barriers. Also couples came in at separate times and sat together while restrictions are on over the holiday season. Don't think we will go back.

In 1979 we moved to Comox and started going to the Seaside Restaurant owned and operated as a Greek Restaurant(now Roy's) by Tony and Aida. We have many great memories so usually once a year drop in to Roy's and think about the past. We noticed a lot of people eating Pizza so decided to try the Royston Royal. OMG This is the BEST pizza in the Comox Valley. We are putting Roy's on our regular lunch itinerary and suggest you try this hidden gem. Be sure and order the Pizza

There where two of us dining. The server Jackie ♥️was a dream server, friendly and professional. Knowledgeable about the menu and keen to please. I had the Thai mussels. Plenty of flavor just a bit lacking in heat but you do get dried chili flakes if needed. The chocolate mouse tho very tasty but more like Betty Crocker's cake filling with cream on. Still tasty but don't expect mousse. All in all simple pub food executed well. We'll be back!
