We were very disappointed with the service during our visit yesterday. Three of the waitresses, in particular the asian girl wearing a cross necklace, displayed terrible customer service -ignoring our table and speaking to us in an arrogant, condescending manner. This was especially frustrating because we were polite and respectful throughout, despite having every reason to be upset.
Shortly afterward, I noticed they treated another group the same way. In that case, an older gentleman in their party expressed his frustration openly. The only staff member who seemed attentive and professional was a taller male server with an accent, who showed initiative and even comped some drinks for the other table.
It’s unfortunate because the location itself is beautiful - cozy, quaint, and right by the lake. This place has the potential to be a five-star destination, but poor service like this drives customers away. While some reviews have suggested retraining the staff, my experience tells me these kinds of attitudes go beyond training - they simply aren’t suited for hospitality work and at least two of the three waitresses need to be let go.
If I were the manager or owner and witnessed this firsthand, I would have addressed the situation immediately, removed at least two of the servers from the floor (permanently), and taken over for the rest of the shift. Sadly, this experience left a negative impression that overshadowed what had been a wonderful day, and I won’t...
Read moreAwful experience. We walk up to the patio and notice they've got a gate with a napkin over the latch. We try to undo to latch and the waitress says you can't come in that way. I point to my companion who is clearly using oxygen and using a wheelchair as a walker.... I'm to go inside then come back out and down a set of stairs with my friend? She says well it might rain so stay inside. I said no we want to be outside. Then she proceeds to ask if we plan to order something. Well yah! So she lets us in under the watchful eye of the manager. Another girl brings a menu. No coffee, no warm beverages, alcoholic cocktails a couple Virgin drinks and some various items. Only the soup or salad are gf. So we order some mocktails and tomato basil soup. The soup tastes like pasta sauce. The Mocktail was ok. Nothing special. As we finish a family comes to the gate and are turned away. They point to their family member who clearly is either having walking issues or perhaps vision issues as someone is guiding her slow steps. The manager steps up tells the waitress no entry that way. She says just this time and opens the gate. One of the waitresses tells us before we leave that he is an awful manager and treats them all badly. He clearly has no idea about AODA or people with disabilities whether seen or unseen. Would not recommend supporting this...
Read moreWe walked in to the restaurant at 6:10pm (their regular closing is at 7pm), and asked for a table outside, however the manager Yousef informed us that they were closing early and could not seat us outside. We tried to be understanding and told him we don’t want to keep them working late if they’re closing, but he insisted that we could still be seated inside. We were placed right next to another family in a tight corner, even though there were many other open tables in the restaurant. But when we sat down we saw him seat multiple other groups outside.
Throughout the experience, the restaurant was quiet, no music, we felt like we could not even talk amongst ourselves freely because of the tension in the room. Because we were also seated close to the kitchen and bar, we could hear the manager, Yousef, arguing and berating the waitress.
The food was mediocre. I had the Bison bratwurst but the sausage itself was dry, and the bun it was served in was over baked and blackened on one side, but soggy on the other. The seasonal greens with strawberry and walnuts were good.
I can’t deny that the views from the restaurant were awesome. I’m hoping they improve their service and food for the future since it’s located in such a...
