I was quite skeptical with the 5 star reviews for a sandwich shop, but boy was I blown away. I finally got to try this place as my dad had a meeting around the area. I called, but there was no answer. I was concerned since we were going near closing time that they might not be able to accommodate our order of 6 sandwiches. To my delight, he called back and happily accepted our order. When we got there, we were greeted by a very friendly man. He was making our orders fresh and even gave us free potato puffs. You can tell he really cares about the quality of his products! The store was cute and centrally located in the Chemainus area. We ordered 6 sandwiches (3x shrimp, angry toast, 2x gravy and angry tuna), potato Puffs and onion rings. The friendly guy even introduced us to the stamp card, filled it out and gave us a free drink because we had ordered 6 sandwiches. These are very reasonable priced sandwiches and hefty too! Delicious and healthy ! We loved the shrimp sandwich the most and just a warning to you all that the angry sandwiches are actually spicy, but in a good way! All in all, we highly suggest visiting this small business whenever you have a chance! Would come again and again.

A Must-Stop for Unique Korean-Inspired Sandwiches Soul Toast, located on the highway between Victoria and Duncan, is definitely worth going out of your way to try. This locally owned gem is run by a friendly and passionate Korean owner who brings creativity and a big smile to every sandwich he makes. You know you’re in for a treat when the owner’s joy is contagious! Soul Toast specializes in sandwiches with a unique Korean twist, offering bold flavors and inventive combinations. We tried the *Gravy Soul Toast*, which was an impressive mix of cabbage, hashbrowns, meat, and rich, flavorful gravy. Each bite was hearty and satisfying, capturing that comforting “soul food” vibe. We also had the *Smile Chicken Toast*, which is not for the faint of heart when it comes to spice! The heat was intense but delicious, balanced perfectly by the acidity of pickles and the cooling crunch of cabbage. It’s a wonderfully layered sandwich that keeps each bite interesting. Soul Toast is a refreshing find on the highway—a place where you can enjoy quality, inventive sandwiches crafted with care and a passion for flavor. Highly recommended if you're in the area or passing by!

Soul's Toast deserves each and every positive review it's gotten so far, and more. This was the 3rd time I've had the distinct pleasure of this remarkable restaurant tucked quietly just off the Malahat. Each meal has been absolutely packed full of flavor, is filling for even the hungrier appetites, and these unique sandwiches speak volumes about the love, attention, and care put into them. In my 3 visits I've had the Soul's Toast, Angry Egg Toast, and today the Shrimp Soul's Toast as well as the Crazy Soul's Fries. Each sandwich is crafted with decadence. The fusion of flavors create a unique twist on an age old concept, that is refreshingly delicious. Being that this location is on the side of a highway, it could be easy to miss but I promise you, it's worth the stop. You'll leave feeling full, valued, and eagerly awaiting the next chance you get to come back here. If I could sum up my experience at Soul's Toast, I'd say Soul's Toast is Soul food. 5/5 Absolutely recommend. Don't forget the Crazy Soul's Fries *chefs kiss*

My wife and I got married in Chemainus a year ago, and the morning that we left back home we stopped in at Soul’s and it was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful, and Soul is the most delightful human being to ever own a restaurant.

We returned to Chemainus for our one year anniversary, and just expected to find Soul’s in the same spot, however after googling the location we learned that that location had closed and he was now just off of the northbound Trans-Canada beside Malahat gas. We decided we would stop there on the way home and are we ever glad we did.

Soul was so incredibly friendly, and somehow after one year and seeing countless faces, he remembered my wife and I, and went above and beyond to prepare and serve our dine-in order, and then bring us our to go order, all with the biggest smile and most genuinely happy attitude.

I ordered the gravy toast meal, with an angry egg to go, and my wife ordered an angry egg, with one to go. The portions are large and very filling, and the food is absolutey delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough, and we’re so glad it’s that much closer to home...
