How to come up with 200 words to describe a place so small? El Sabor De Marina is a little trailer formerly a shack, that is beside a small convenience store just south of Oliver British Columbia.
Owned and operated by transient workers the come up to work in the vineyards of the south Okanogan during the wine season they make some very tasty burritos and quesadillas for the very loyal clientele that visits them.
It is one of those little local secrets that you might otherwise drive by without a second look. However if you pay attention toy would notice that there is a steady line up if people waiting for their order to be prepared.
At peak hours, lunch and dinner, you can wait 20-30 minutes to get your order, but it is worth it!
The burritos come in chicken, beef or bean and the hotter sauces are awesome. I recommend the green version because I like spicy!
They have added a few things to the menu but the burritos and quesadillas have always been the goto meal there. Everything costs about $10 Canadian and the servings are generous.
Cash only is the rule so don't expect to use your credit card or debit...
Read moreAfter spending a few days in oliver I had come back for tacos three times.
Tried the beef, chicken and pork.
Beef was quite good, meat was just a little too dry to give it top marks but it was very good. Like burnt ends on a bbq menu. If you like that, you will like these.
Pork was moist and flavorful like it should be.
Chicken was the surprise. Usually I dont get chicken if there are other taco options, but the flavor was authentic mexican and the meat was perfectly roasted.
The slaw on the tacos was colorful, and well prepared. I could use a touch more flavor profile from it though.
Tacos came with a small guac just enough to add a bit to each taco, but needed a bit more garlic to make it noticable.
The hot sauce/salsa seemed to be a roasted tomatillo style and carried a medium heat which will suit most tastes
Service was quick from order to receiving your meal.
I will come back and grab a burrito next. Had to try all the tacos first.
Just needs a little bit more flavor dynamic to get my review to a...
Read moreOne of our favourite places to eat when we are in Oliver and Osoyoos. This food truck is right off the highway in Oliver. It’s a popular place so we usually have a few people ahead of us that have already ordered as was the case today.
I ordered the Pork Burrito as I wanted something really tasty and also filing. The pork, rice, beans, lettuce, corn, onion and cheese all went so nicely together. It had the avocado, salad and refried beans on the side as well. It was a great lunch as I was full and very happy!
My wife had the Chicken Tacos. She really liked that it came with lots of veggies like avocado, cabbage, tomato, onion, cilantro and the chicken itself was great as it was nicely marinaded!
There’s a covered area with 2 picnic tables and 2 smaller tables. So lots of room to sit down and eat. The food is so good you have to stop by when...
