Best subway experience in a decade. I said what I wanted a tuna on white not toasted no cheese. I didn’t have to repeat. I didn’t get asked if I wanted cheese or toasted like if the person I’m dealing with is a deaf robot and I didn’t have to point to what I wanted because of language barriers. The person was generous with the toppings l, never had so much tuna on a sandwich and it really makes that big a difference. The sandwich was the best ever. Every item they got right. The lettus and tomato’s all looked fresh. The bar was clean and no signs of cross contamination of items. No flies. Every table super clean. Coming from Vancouver where the people usually don’t speak good English and are stingy with the toppings and cross contaminate everything using a dirty counter while flicking away flies and having to repeat every thing or point to what it is you want and then having to wipe off a table to eat at this was a real treat. Dunno why is City folk put up with horrible service. It does a disservice to the company as a whole. This subway restored my faith in Subway. I am almost tempted to drive a hour to have a proper sandwich once in a while. It’s not that this place is that good. I mean they are just doing what’s proper. It’s how bad the Vancouver and lower mainland...
Read more"Be With You In A Moment" - every time in drive-through with no customers inside the restaurant.
I've been here a few times and while the food has been typical Subway, rolling up to the drive-through at any time of day, any day is met always with a 'be right with you' - today I waited 10 minutes before asking 'Are You Ready Yet?", and was again told "Be with you in a moment" - only to be told when they finally came on the speaker that what I was wanting was not available (Chili). What a waste of time.
I don't know what the staff are doing where they can never take your order when you arrive, but today I purposely looked into the dining room and saw only one person sitting and eating. No excuse to keep someone waiting for 10+ minutes to take their order. Perhaps they were playing video games or texting or who knows what.
The drive through desperately needs some landscaping attention, weeds are so tall it's starting to obstruct the menu boards as well.
Not impressed - I went across the street to the also-poor Tim Hortons and was served right away. My wife has gone through the Subway drive through and has had to wait 'for a moment' - the whole situation is odd and...
Read moreThis review is more about the Subway brand than this particular location (staff and service were fine). I haven't been to Subway in years, and two things I noticed. The prices are higher, but with all the Trudeauflation over the years, I can't blame Subway.
But one thing I can blame them for is for trying to encourage tipping. Tipping is already an unfortunate practice which gets restaurants out of paying decent wages, and which shouldn't be necessary to get good service (I never had a rude server in Japan or Australia). Fast food was always an exception to the disease, but Subway is starting to infect that norm. Not only was a tip asked for, but there was no "no tip" option by default (have to navigate to "other" and put 0).
I tapered off Subway since I don't need another source of carbs, but I can't see myself ever becoming a regular again. I don't mind navigating to zero, but I'm a spoiled Canadian living a low-conflict lifestyle, and I'd rather just go a less awkward...
