The Clubhouse at Hekate's Retreat — Restaurant in Area E (Moresby Island)

My partner and I were so excited to make the trek to Sandspit from Port with a couple from Skidegate to try The Clubhouse restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed in the quality of the food. Two of us had the halibut tacos. The halibut was not fresh, was overcooked, and the coleslaw was from a bag and also not fresh. Barely any sauce on the tacos left them dry and unflavorful. The smash burger was so thin it was barely there. The cajun chicken burger breast was smaller than the bun. We all had fries, which were overcooked with stale oil.

The server didn't ask us how our food was.

It's a nice location, with a lovely deck. Next time we are in Sandspit, we will be going to...

During our week in Sandspit on Haida Gwaii we ate here numerous times. The smoked salmon eggs Benny was the best I've ever had. Every meal we had there was outstanding! Excellent chef! We loved the friendly atmosphere and excellent and accommodating service we received, even when we arrived right at closing a couple of times! We also enjoyed watching the hockey game and the Tyson fight with some of the'locals'... One of whom secretly bought our meal on our last night there! We really enjoyed the server, Riley who was outstanding interesting to chat with. ...

Great for, plentiful portions. Ling cod and chips was excellent. Others in our party had the chowder, various burgers,salads and all were presented hot fresh and handmade with love and care.
