SUMMARY: Down-to-earth, small-town, good service, good food. Cheers!
The pub itself is not fancy- it's a small town pub, the type I like and frequented up-and-down Vancouver Island for decades. No pretence. Walked in, sat at an outside table on a nice patio with my wife and brother-in-law, and a lively server was there within 2 minutes with menus and she took our drink orders.
The beer menu isn't overwhelming- a good thing because I didn't want to 'umm-and-ahh' to select a beer after a few hours of wine-tasting along Naramata Bench. I selected a Blonde Anarchist which turned out to be a good one- light, tasty, refreshing.
Our server was quick to let us know that wings were on special, so we ordered a dozen salt-and-pepper wings to start. They were good: on the dry side (which I like) and well-seasoned.
My bro-in-law said he has come here just for the Reuben sandwiches which he's consumed with gusto. We ordered Reubens all around.
While we waited for the main course, we joked about going to Peach Fest and seeing old rock band "Chilliwack" (we didn't go). Our server (and a second one) checked on us a few times and brought more beer. Our food arrived way before we even started wondering where it was: a good thing.
The bro-in-law was right. The Reuben sandwich was great. Good stacking of corned beef and sauerkraut between marbled rye with mustard performing it's background role to a tee. After my wife belted out a few lines from an old "Chilliwack" song, we though we should leave.
We like paying at the bar and so we did. Easy-peasy.

Read moreTerrible food and service. Avoid it like the plague. Harvest Burger is a Costco burger patty with what they called special sauce. Pretty sure the special sauce was mayonnaise. Chicken burger was worse. The “Crispy chicken patty is one of those $2.00 chicken mystery meat cutlets and the same “special sauce”. The Bench salad was okay with very bland chicken breast. No compensation for screwing up our orders or for the terrible food. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!
reply to the owner* The server was very aware that we were unhappy! Does that not count for letting you know?? My wife who is normally pretty quiet about these things (having been a server for many years) definitely let the server know our frustration.
The list of discrepancies is much larger the my original review and the one I left out that maybe I should have included was how upset my stomach was right after we ate and didn’t stop being upset until early the next morning.
SHAME ON YOU!! Stop hiding behind the pandemic, everyone is struggling. Heck..with the very limited spending money we had, we decide to include your bar in our anniversary weekend only to have the worse lunch out we have had together in 19 years. I gave a very honest review of your bar from our experience. Own up to it and fix it instead of crying...
Read moreSunday Sept.22 Our party of four had lunch at Naramata Pub. We arrived around 1pm. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and received drinks in a timely manner but after that everything went downhill. Fish and chips and a hamburger with fries is usually a simple order but it was 45 minutes to an hour before we received our order. There was another table seated after us that was served first but perhaps their order was a more simple one. When our order arrived the fish I had was good but I wasn’t aware that my husband’s piece was soft and undercooked or I would have said something at the time. All fries for our orders were semi warmed and dry like the kind you get when they have sat under a heat lamp, definitely not fresh. The burger patty was tough and very dry. It was a very disappointing meal. We have eaten here before and been happy with our meal but certainly will not bring guests again. This is not a criticism of the cheerful lady who served us but of the quality of the food and the time we had to wait. Very disappointed,...
