The View Restaurant — Restaurant in Area F (Columbia Lake/Windermere Lake)

I can’t even begin to praise this restaurant high enough. I have a child with multiple, life threatening food allergies and we can never go out to eat as a family, either because the local restaurants won’t accommodate, which I understand and never push for, or they won’t let us bring in outside food for her and I knew my family and I would be eating here to celebrate my birthday and I sent an email to ask about food I saw on the menu that my daughter would love and asked about allergens and mentioned that I wasn’t looking for any crazy accommodations as I don’t like disrupting a busy kitchen and that if the foods weren’t safe, I asked about bringing in outside food and my gosh, the chef sent me a list of the ingredients for me to look at and said he’d cook her food in a designated fryer to avoid cross contamination but also said that we could bring in outside food. So for the first time in over 7 years, my daughter was not only able to join us all for a night out at a restaurant but she got to eat restaurant food! The chef himself even came out to give it to her and I just can’t thank them enough for the graciousness and kindness.

It was an excellent experience overall. We ordered two appetizers which were large enough for our group of eight to share and taste both. The drinks were good, and lots of varied choices. The nachos are a HUGE portion. A half order is enough for two people as their main course. The pork chop was excellent, a good size, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. The steak was good, and they nailed the medium rare. The Korean fried chicken was cooked well, crispy but not tough. And the sweet and salty flavors were well balanced. I found the braised cabbage was tasty and the squash was a new and appreciated pairing for the chicken. Speciality coffees were very good and a lovely cap to the meal. We were interested in the dessert selection but had no room after the large portions. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and quantity provided. If there was more stars we could give, we would give them all to Sarah and the gang! Thank you guys for accommodating our late night arrival and eats! Kitchen was closed at 9pm, and we needed a meal, it was 8:58 and we were minutes from the restaurant, while on the phone with her, she was willing to read us the menu over the phone and take our order so we eat! She was SO friendly, and SO knowledgeable, and just a great conversationalist. We loved her. She mentioned it was her 3rd shift, you wouldn’t believe it! She is a pro! A total sweetheart, and we very much enjoyed our experience here!
