Myself an a few friends were traveling thru Spences Bridge an heard the Log Cabin Pub was opened again so we thought we would stop in for a late lunch........it was a Saturday afternoon and only 1 car in the parking lot so we thought what the heck lets give it a go. Great location Great inside deco...we sat down an server came by with menus an asked us what we would like to drink...I ordered half a kraft of white wine to share with 2 glasses an the others got drinks....drinks arrived in cans ...we had to ask for glasses an they came with no ice BUT chilled glasses. My 1/2 kraft of wine came an it was a screwtop bottle of white wine with only half of the wine in the bottle....strange only because whenever I order wine in a litre or half litre it always comes in a kraft....then it came to ordering appies...which there is no pub like food on the menu...no nachos no rib bits etc. We ordered tempura shrimp...the menu says you get 5 of them well we got 6...then we had spring rolls...all the food was very heavily deep fried from frozen.. we had to ask for side plates an cutlery....the cutlery came an it was wooden bamboo knifes an forks.... we ordered a chicken quesidia thinking for the price it would be fairly large...it came in a small basket with 2 pieces folded in half like a pizza pop and they both were very small an one very burnt where we had to send it back. Then came the pizza we ordered...it was the Veggy pizza...when it came it wasn't fully cut we tried to use the bamboo knife an it wouldn't cut it properly so we had to ask for a steak knife. Once we cut it up all of us said it looked like a frozen McCain pizza with some peppers thrown on top...we asked the server if it was a frozen pizza she said only the bottom....We were certainly disappointed an I hate the fact I have to post this but the food was terrible...if the atmosphere was a little more lively along with the service and more of a pub feel menu it would be a great place to stop...but for me...
Read moreIt is wonderful to see the Ol' Girl up and running again. There are not too many places in the area that we can go for a cold brew and a hockey game.
Aksh is lovely and very attentive to customers. His personality is very good for customer service. He will do very well at the LCP!
There has to be a few tweaks to the menu. The wine prices are not very good. Quite expensive even for my tastes. I know they are just getting started, but please do research on wine. There is also no beef on the menu (hamburgers, steaks or even hot dogs). I hope that when things get rolling at the Pub, there will be new items that The air conditioning is so cold you could hang meat....
I look forward to the new ideas at the Log Cabin and welcome...
Read moreTHIS PLACE WAS SO AMAZING. I WAS THERE LAST WEEK. THE BARTENDER WAS SO SUPER FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE. I COULD HARDLY BELIEVE SH HAD JUST STARTED. SHE ACTED AND SEEMED LIKE SHE BEEN THERE FOR YEARS.. FOOD WAS SUPER GOOD. MUSIC WAS OKAY. PLACE WAS VERY CLEAN. THE GRAFFITI IN THE BATHROOM WAD A HOOT. Again was super impressed for a country side bar to be such a warm welcoming place. SO GLAD THIS PLACE IS HERE. it's very hard to find great staff nowadays. Coming from the big city it's hard to even get a smile nevermind such pleasent intelligent conversation along with laughs and jokes. HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT TRIP UP..SO STOP IN AND SAY HI TO CHANTAL, AND LORY AT THE LOG CABIN GREATEST GALS EAST...
