The way our server spoke to us was out of this world… absolutely classless and disrespectful.
She left me shaking and almost in tears during my wedding brunch, and I wasn’t even sure what the issue was. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, before we even sat down… she aggressively told us that we needed to pay a minimum for our party. Although this wasn’t what had been discussed when we booked the reservation; we have spent a lot of time working in the hospitality industry and being our wedding weekend… we genuinely didn’t care about paying the money.
After eating the meal, we went to pay the bill. We calmly and respectfully mentioned to the manager that the server had been rude and made us uncomfortable. He completely supported his servers actions and then I’m not sure his intent on his next words but it seemed like he wanted to engage in a heated argument with us. Which we walked away from, paid our bill and left.
I just really want to make it clear…. It’s not about the money and it never was. We were confused about our bill, but didn’t mind paying it. I think the staff at The Overlander might be surprised how reasonable customers can be if you give them a chance to speak and treat them with a little respect.
And lastly, to the confrontational server with the red hair… I sincerely hope that no one ever speaks to you the way you spoke to me… but in particular on what is meant to be the happiest most special moment of your life. I hope you are always treated with the dignity and respect that everyone deserves no matter what the issue is. Everything can be resolved with a calm...
Read moreThis was the 2nd time I've come to eat here as one guest of a large staff party table, and both times I've been sorely disappointed by the food, personally i wouldnt choose to return. Today it was a barbecue chicken sandwich, which I assumed would have BBQ sauce or something to flavor it. Nope. Chicken was dry, overcooked and bland. Imagine eating raw boring lettuce tomato and white onion on top of a plain, not seasoned, overcooked piece of white chicken meat placed btw two crispy dry pieces of plain white toast and youll know what its like to eat this sandwich. Last time I was here I had the same experience with the burger. Dry, not seasoned, and over cooked. Decor is cute and landscape is nice, skip the lunch and maybe get some appies and desserts, those are slightly better. At least the chicken wings are, the ribs are like rocks. Horribly dry like the rest of...
Read moreWe loved thanksgiving buffet, but a disappointing Christmas brunch, our son was visiting us from Ontario thought we'd treat him to a nice meal. He did rave about the eggs Benedict, I liked sitting with Santa even got my husband & 55 yr old son in the picture However most things on our plate we left, seems like the chicken drum sticks were the only meat besides bacon didn't look a big hit lots left. I never had one, didn't look appealing. We expected a carvery usually at a Sunday brunch. Not value for money this time, in my honest opinion. We tried to book dinner but fully Booked. Won't go again for Sunday Brunch. I've...
