Station House — Restaurant in Barriere

Starting with the positive, Irene was a fantastic hostess. Attentive, friendly, fast, and helpful. The play old rock music which was a huge plus for me. 👍 The food was just okay. It arrived too quickly. Everything is homemade, and you can tell by it's authenticity, but my starter was definitely microwaved and not fresh. I had the zucchini sticks, which the breading was delicious and flavored well, but then being microwaved made it soggy and oily. I had the seafood fettuccine, which again had great taste, but I'm skeptical it was microwaved. The sauce I'm assuming was homemade, but had almost a grainy or sandy texture. Also the most shrimp I've ever seen in a restaurant pasta dish. 👍 I had apple pie for dessert which was delightful. Definitely a must have if available. The place has ample family sized seating, a section on the menu for kids, is wheelchair accessible, and plenty of parking for civilian or commercial vehicles. If I'm staying for an extended amount of time in Barriere I'd definitely be a returning customer, although if I'm just passing through Barriere I wouldn't make a point to stop. Overall a...

Monty Cristo was pathetic. 3 very thin slices of meat and soggy tomatoes.

I sent it back and the cook got quite angry with the server, saying "there's nothing wrong with it and she's going to pay for it!" Um no, that's not the way it works.

I had 3 bites, they never gave it back... WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT EAT?????

We get the bill and they didn't take it off or give us any type of discount.

Our original server didn't even check on us, her coworker tended to us instead. Bless the other server, I felt bad for her. I tipped her instead of our original one.

She ignored us the moment we received our food. She no tip as she did not earn it.

A cute little restaurant. We come here for lunch with our great grandparents and grandparents and parents. It is not fancy, but it is good food for a good price. The wait staff is really friendly and she offered my 4 year old a colouring book and box of crayons. They had it all set up and ready to grab in travel soap dishes at the front. It was nice to see colours other than just red yellow and blue. Parents, you know what I'm talking about.

The waitress told us about the special soup of the day, cream of pickles! Apparently the chef grows his own cucumbers and makes his own pickles and has made this soup recipe from scratch. It was very good! I've also had the borscht here and it's fantastic.

I had the soup and Cesar wrap, my husband had nachos (he thought they were really good). 4 had a Burger and chocolate milk. His fries looked really big and crispy and lovely.
