Almost didn't get in since everything in Nova Scotia was packed and reservation only on Valentine's Day... Little lobster crawl vacation week oversight on my part. However, Brandy was a superhero today and got my fiance and I a table 15 minutes before closing. They ran out of lobsters so I didn't get the full lobster dinner I planned this week long vacation for, but it actually worked out really well because the seafood chowder, the last remaining source of lobster in the restaurant, was absolutely mind blowing level delicious... So much so I kind of regretted getting scallops and haddock to share with the seafood platter we also ordered, since both my fiance and I got big bowls of chowder we definitely didn't need more food. Out of 5+ restaurants the deep fried haddock was definitely the best so far, and the scallops were excellent as well. Pretty good fries too but not the star of the show if I'm being honest. If I lived here I think I'd be eating at JB's at least once a week, can't go wrong for these prices and with a level of service that high.

Any stop in Barrington Passage must include a visit to JB’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant! I initially went because the online reviews of the food were enticing. Once there, I was moved to discover that this woman-owned business is staffed by family members who are keeping alive the legacy of a Miss Ally fisherman, lost to the sea in a 2013 tragedy that claimed five young men from this area. Two things to love about the Maritimes are the fresh seafood (simply cooked, and bursting with flavour) and the friendly locals (in my opinion, Maritimers are the most genuine people in Canada). You will get both of these in abundance at JB’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant.

Food was great. Waitress seemed a little distracted. Came to asked us how our meal was and was backing away before we even answered her. Food was wonderful. Fries light and crispy. Batter on Haddock bites and scallops was very light.

Great meals and excellent service at JB's. It was late on a Sunday afternoon, and we needed dinner before a long drive back to Annapolis Royal. We got to JB's  15 minutes before closing and were welcomed in without hesitation. The food was great and we didn't feel rushed at all, even though I'm sure the staff were ready to leave before we got there. Thank you for making us feel at home! I had the hot chicken burger, which was delicious. Other meals were the lobster sandwich, chicken cesar salad, BLT, and haddock chowder and veggies beef soup. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We'd definitely come again if we're...
