Country Delight Ltd — Restaurant in Bay Roberts

I've had what I'll call "Newfoundland style" chicken and chips all across the island and this was one of my top stand out places. But I don't be in Bay Roberts much so I hadn't been here in years. Was going to be in the area so my wife and I were looking forward to going again. Long day and long drive, we were excited to eat. First, the waitress skipped me and took the order of the person who came in after me. The tables were very dirty and we had to clean one ourselves before we sat down. I had overheard the person who ordered before me being told it would be 45 minutes but that wasn't communicated to me so I figured they must have ordered something different, but it did take about that long. I was afraid with the amount of people waiting for food maybe the chicken wouldn't be cooked, but it was just slightly overcooked and dry, without much flavour at all. The special we had comes with a 1 liter drink, but with only few choices I asked could we have 2 cans of something else instead, but they wouldn't substitute for 2 cans even though that's less. Service: A friendly server took our order and briefly chatted with us when we sparked a conversation with her.

Atmosphere: Old time pop/rock/country music played gently overhead and tied well with the restaurant's Coca-Cola collection and old fashioned diner theme. Seats were comfortable but area was narrow for getting in and out of especially while passing other customers seated in same area but it wasn't bothersome. Bathroom was clean. There was a parking lot in front with many customers but also much room.

Food was horrible order 3 piece chicken meal and 1 large poutine and 2 small fries and it came to 43 dollars .. called and asked if I could get the owner to call me back that was Sunday and still no call back .. not very happy with the food dry chicken and no taste to it … and fries wasn’t cooked also the cheese on the poutine taste like it was gone bad… .. kids and gf and I got sick off the food .. won’t be back for food if this happen again.. not impressed with the service or the food !
